Not sure it’s a new era it’s not like Sacco is thought of as some , ground breaking thinker, there's a reason he didn't get another head coaching job after one good season in Colorado over 12 years ago.
I suspect that people will be up in arms if there aren’t immediate drastic changes after one practice. But you gotta give it ten games.
For someone new maybe ,Saco isn’t new he’s been around for years .

After we fire Sacco. I think it’s time for a new coach to be brought in and let him bring in his own assistants. Sweeneys had his old boys club run through the bruins assistant coaching roles and it doesn’t work. The coach needs to have the choice on who gets hired to support him.
If the Bruins miss the playoffs, the new GM will pick their own coach.

Hope they come and play with energy and focus. Hope they come out and play hard.

Say they do indeed play like their hair is on fire, and Korpi has a GREAT game and gets the W. Who starts Saturday vs Detroit?

Tue-Wed next week is a back to back where they both play anyway.

I think they are looking to get back to Julien/Cassidy basics. And Sacco is a bridge back to that. The defensive structure under Monty is Buffalo level this season. It's not innovative. And right now, that's OK.

they need to go in with a no shot is a bad shot mentality. everything on net no looking for the pass. I don't care if every shot starts at the blueline. get the shot through and go for rebounds and put it on net again. so tired of the quality over quantity approach. time to flip that.

Both teams at 5v5 over the last 10 games

slight edge to Utah at 5v5 which is a problem with how bad our special teams have been. It took OT for Utah to beat us last time and you hope the boys are fired up after getting their last coach fired. I'm cautiously optimistic that we get a win tonight.

In regards to the PP I couldn’t disagree more. The strategy has been the same for years now and it’s predictable and slows the team down. You have the dman rush in while everyone else is flat footed on the blue line with no chance to keep up with the play.

In regards to management selecting the assistants and working out pretty well by that same logic we should have kept Monty with his 120-40ish record. Success is measured in the playoffs not regular season.
The PP “strategy” is so predictable even I could climb over the glass in time to pick off that damn slow back drop pass and skate up ice for a short- handed attempt. :sarcasm:

Totally agree. This team does not have the skillset to wait for the perfect shot. They need to go with volume, rebounds and dirty goals.

I think we need to recalibrate how we watch Bruins games.

After 15 years, we're used to seeing them control the game for most part, in particular we're used to seeing them spend most of their time with the puck and on offense.

This team needs to walk before they can run. Focus on the small things that lead to winning. That means focus on your effort and details. Ignore the score and just try to win your line battles tonight. Defense first. If you defend well, you'll have the puck more. Goalies need to compete. Battle for every save. Get that hunger back!
