So I switch from TSN to Sportsnet, and I gotta say the change from watching Claire Hanna and Marc Methot to Gene and Stauff was rather abrupt.

Puck skills are similar.
Defence is slightly better.
Skating is better.
Hitting is better.

He's basically 2017 Cody Ceci making 950k. So a marginal improvement, but an improvement nonetheless.

Yet he's a -7 playing ~14 minutes a night on our bottom pair.

Ceci was a 20+ minute a night d-man here for 3 years and was consistently a plus player. The Oilers are giving up a full goal more per 60 minutes with Emberson on the ice compared to when Ceci was on the ice here. Ceci also provided the some semblance of offense, something Emberson hasn't shown at all here.

He hits harder. He's worse at everything else.
