Glad Harris and Wideman are out, wish Armia and Dvorak plus Evans could be swapped as well for a few games.

I felt Slaf got cheated out of his oportunity!

I mean they are pros… You mean like slap them up side the head?
On this board, more often than once, posters were criticizing previous coaches without mercy because the team was having bad 1st periods.... We can't criticize MSL ???

For sure, that’s the goal of a message board.

I feel getting all smelling salt and red-bulled out and all twitchy is the player’s job. I feel coaches should step in when everyone is panicking for example; but I doubt MSL would gain much on the long run if he started breaking sticks…

I’m sure there are tactical communications like face-offs, tendencies, heads-ups... But being flat footed and not sharp I wonder what works these days.

What would be your approach to make sure they show up ready (curious for real)?

I don't wanna hear that f***in' cannon, not one shot. C'mon boys, you can do it. Monty can be counted on to make some game savers and if they can show a bit of pride after last night's debacle, you never know. Blue jackets are no big deal.

Yeah, cause I get stuck with AC/DC's ´for those about to rock' in the 🧠 for a couple days whenever we lose to Columbus

Maybe you should ask to a real NHL coach like they have in Boston, NJ or Colorado... Those teams rarely come out flat.

Or maybe you just missed Lindy's first two year with NJ.... Because your statement is ridiculous.

Boston and Colorado are mature teams, NJ is a team coming out of their rebuilding. All ready to compete at the highest level.
Montreal is a team maturing, full rookie, not ready to compete.

Those games will happens and there's many more to come.....we're still not a very good team.

Right now, MSL is coaching individual....not the team yet.
The organization need to trade some players and he need to develop some rookies.
His job is to do both at the same time.
His duty is not to win game, it's not to put the best line-up out there......it's not to make the PO.

Maybe I'm wrong or maybe I'm right. I think the Pierre Gervais Book is very disturbing. What he wrote is very unusual and very disturbing for the team. Like the last thing you want to happen in that kind of sport. HUGE distraction. If 20% of the players are affected in 5% of their play on the ice, guess how it affect the entire game in pure pourcentage. And I think 50% of the players are affected and MSL can't do anything. That's a storm, let the time do his job, let the calm come back, there is nothing MLS can do.

Like it was said in some medias, Gervais could have tell only good stories and positive things. But no, he revealed things that should stay in the room. He picked easy victims and he saved Molson, Savard, Gainey, etc.

I wrote it some times and I will go there again. Toxic environment is very damaging. Never underestimate the damage done by toxic writing, toxic talk, etc. Toxic inside a team and toxic in social medias. But it's impossible to solve that problem. Toxicity will only get worse with time. I'm preaching in a desert.

I love reading about the Habs, but the little media taste makes Gervais seem like an unpleasant person with a Napoleon complex and not much gratitude or class. It seemed like the Canadiens treated him well; I remember the big retirement event for him after the final game against the Panthers, and he was given an ATV. I presume the event was organized/authorized by Bergevin, who by the media accounts got the hatchet in the book. I would personally give Bergevin a hard time myself for his work over the years, but if I knew him personally I certainly wouldn't go public with it, especially after working there for 35 years and getting that kind of send-off. Too bad. Wish it had just been fun stories about the old days. Then I'd buy it!

Hi, sorry I prob won’t read it so when you described it as “disturbing” I had visions of player abuse or throwing games to pay for cocaine debts haha :) … You mean it must be distracting, right? bothersome, concerning… I’m sure a lot of these guys are good friends with DD (for example), you are probably correct.

I mean... unless players were implicated in some sh!t why would they be impacted by the talk of Patch being a bad captain or Ducharme being less than lousy coach? Perhaps, like a good therapy, the bandaid needed to be reaped. They still have their paychecks and pre-game naps. They'll get over it.

They'll get over it. But it will take time. And maybe MSL will be a little less a cool guy and he will talk louder. But this distraction will be enough for the team to tank a bit more. I wasn't sure what would happen few weeks ago. They were winning, they were close to a PO spot. Now I think they will sink for a while. They are an above average team after all. Old players overpaid and youngs who don't have experience. This team will really get better starting next year. Maybe.

... cocaine debts, imagine Gervais really telling everything, geeez. You know what, I prefer not knowing anything and stay ignorant and naive. I will not buy that book.
