Probably by this board's average age I am in the middle, but my serious fandom goes back to the late 80s/early 90s (it was always hard in those days living in non-hockey areas) and I can honestly say I don't remember the team ever being this consistently hard to watch. Recency bias is a thing and maybe the Lewis "era" was just as tough, but even that felt like it was better viewing even though the team kind of sucked.
The Lewis team was competitive until the bottom fell out the last 6 weeks of the season.

2005/06 was a gong show from the beginning.

I remember I scoffed up $10 tickets for multiple games and had to literally beg people to go with me.

Right so I am remember things right lol (never know sometimes past a certain age)- I recall that even in those lean years with goalies carousel, coach carousel, the Lewis low point, the team was always in it till later in the season.

I would be in a way worse mood today if I didn't sit next to some cool high school kids last night who snuck in a bunch of nips moved down to center ice Loge with 30 dollar tickets and got tossed second intermission.

I'm a Bobby Orr kid. I've seen it all. In the past, when the B's were bad it was because they had no talent. So you could accept it.
This year, they should be "good" at least. There is no drive/pride/tenacity/aggressiveness from any of the players. None of them. Actually, you don't see it in the coach either.
A bunch of Pedro Cerrano's out there. They need to find a Jobu statue.

Montgomery has to go on a quest to reassemble all the pieces of the 2011 Cup winning team to vanquish the curse:

Bergeron's brain
Chara's heart
Thomas's compete factor
Campbell's broken leg
Krejci's soft hands

Elias Lindholm was overpaid, but I expected 50ish+ points with responsible 2-way play. Poitras not quite taking the leap I’d hoped he would. Swayman missing camp totally effed up his start to the season. McAvoy just uncharacteristically bad. If anyone needs a sports psychologist it’s #73. Pastrnak seems moody and not his usually self. He can work his way out of his slump though. Marchand… he’s getting older. It’s bound to happen. Zacha is Zacha.

The roster just lacks anything resembling offensive talent beyond the above. Coyle Frederic Geekie.. meh. Coaching change? I’m not against it but will it really make a difference? This roster lacks middle 6 talent imo.

At least Sheshterkin has a history of excellence with which to make his contract demands. As I said in a previous post Swayman's deal is chump change compared to what a goaltender of Sheshterkin's level should command.
But look at Igor's stats last season till about the halfway point . Quick was by far the better netminder for the NYR thru half of theseason. Hopefully Sway can refocus and pick his game up soon.

Dude is shooting for the stars though.
It's just been the last 3 years plus this one where he's #1 in Ragland.
He won a Vezina the first year of being a starter. We'll give him that.
But for a player who's position is to play 5/8 of the games to pay him as much as Kreider and Fox if not more, not a chance.

Plus right now as a backup Quick is absolutely killing it this year, which doesn't look great nor does it look great here.

Lack of scoring is a big issue but if the D and goalie tandem were playing up to last years standards they could be stealing the 2-1 and 3-2 type games. With the current collapse on D and in net ( Sway) they need to score 4-5+ per game which is unrealistic .

Well it looking i goinf to be saving some Money by not making our Annual trip up to see the Bruins.
Cant Justify spending for food Tickets and Hotel to watch them

I hear you. We shelled out a stupid chunk for good seats in Dallas plus the 3 hour round trip, eating out only to be treated to the ultimate shitshow. Too bad we bought the tickets before the season started otherwise I would have passed given the way they are playing.

Watched that unobstructed view this morning with Chara Rask and Bergeron Razor.Man, just listening to Chara you know he would be a good coach. He talking about simple hockey & Bruins not getting pucks inside enough ,its all outside .

If I said what I thing about what Swayman did to the Bruins teammates, Sweeney and the Front Office and the Fans I would be suspended for life.
But here is the 5%, filtered content:
When it got to the beginning of October I no longer felt that he gave 2 shits about the team, his mates, other goalies etc. I wanted Sweeney to say "enough is enough, the team comes first. He's willing to break our Cap situation so I've traded him for ....."
He's a selfish, phony little prick and if it were in vogue, run out of town on a rail from North Station.

Pasta looks cooked and Macavoy most overrated #1 d in the league. He can’t manage pp and is abysmal in his own end. Plus he costs 9.5 a year. He needs to go.
Cooked? :huh:He is just coming off 110 pt season. Its the team as a whole not Pasta that's bothering you in my opinion.Far as Chuck goes ,he is starting to play better last 3 or 4 games.Far as trading, I hope Bruins get picks, lots of picks 😀
