My overreaction to 2.5 periods is that come July 1 you don't lock into Bunting - even at a decent cap hit over a longer term - and just ask Knies to step up. Every dollar counts, don't go long term with depth pieces and fill from within.

Knies is looking pretty good

I think this "refs are ought to get us" narrative is getting old, they're just f***ing terrible to everyone.

Refs didn't win the game 1 for Tampa and now that Leafs are actually playing really well, it's weird to keep harping about the refs like this.
It's not that their agaisnt us. It's that the league knows theres a lot of people investing their time on the Leafs and it's in the league best business interest to create as much controversy as possible.

I think they are happy with the split considering they are down 2 of their top 3 defencemen right now.
That isn't the mentality they should be having.

They had a chance this evening to stick a dagger into Toronto.

Vasilevskiy was the one that needed to have a game where he stopped 35 of 36 shots, and allowed the Lightning to win 2-1.

Toronto's got to be careful here in this 3rd period. I'm sure Tampa is pretty pissed that one of their guys took a run and injured one of their top 4 dmen. This game is out of reach now, and they might decide to get even, take a run at one of Toronto's top players. You'd hate to see something like that happen, but that's the position Bunting has put his team in, and Toronto needs to manage this 3rd period carefully now.
So in other words look out for Kucherov considering the only other guy on TB that would do something that bad is Cernak lmao.

With Matthews and Nylander coming up for new deals and a stagnant cap, that's probably a good call.

Well, Toronto is showing pushback. Tampa will leave with home-field advantage, but we have ourselves a series now!

You do kinda right?
No way. I hated seeing that rat piece of shit move by Bunting. That's not in the spirit of the game. I hope Tampa doesn't decide to retaliate, but that's the way teams used to handle stuff like that, that's the old school way, and in the past it wouldn't be a question of "if" it would be "when". I don't mind if Tampa tries to mix it up here, maybe start some fights and try to insert themselves physically, make sure Toronto is coming to Tampa with some scrapes and bruises. But hopefully nobody tries to take someone's head off.

Is this the Jeannot the Leafs are supposed to be scared of?

Schenn shouldn't have fought him, he's a liability on the ice.

LOL, the fans taunting Jeannot in the box now

Isn't Jeannot supposed to be tough? Schenn isn't even a good fighter... I'd feel bad for him if he had to go Simmonds
