No need to headhunt Bennett whether or not some people think he deserves it. Just play our game and win.

100% expecting a fight though, Domi vs Bennett makes the most sense. There has to be some sort of response, just don't let it dictate the entire game.

I think the players know whether it is a punishable offense more than we do. Stolarz would have a take for sure. If somebody blows up Bennett with a hit at an opportune time to do it we will know something. Maybe Domi or someone maybe knocks him down in the first period because because you do, that even when it probably was an accident. But no Leaf is going to hand the opposition a major penalty days later.

Well said. He also came in down 3-1 last year on the road in Boston after Samsonov shat his pants, and probably would've won us the series if he was healthy for game 7.

And that's the concerning part, the Cats clearly have a lot more to give, the Leafs might have been peaked already. Woll will have to steal a game or two like he did last year vs Boston.

How have the Leafs peaked when Matthews couldn't hit the side of a barn last night, Tavares has like 1 point in his last 5, and Marner was barely there offensively? Not to mention Woll letting in a couple softies coming in cold.

Florida is a damn good team and they'll play better than last night, but the Leafs still have alot more before they peak. Which bodes well for them considering they scored 5 last night and dominated two periods.

Whitecloud isn't much of a fighter and Bennett has fought a number of guys Knies size and bigger who fight more often

Knies is 6'3 227 lbs. Who has Bennet fought that is bigger than that and also fights often? The only guy I can think of is Zadorov who turned Bennett into a pretzel.

The only semi tough guys with any size Bennet has ever beaten are Josh Manson and Darnell Nurse who are at least 10 lbs lighter than Knies.

You can find Bennett's fight card below, it's not very impressive, there's no Tom Wilson, Wayne Simmonds, Tanner Jeannot, Lawson Crouse, Trent Frederic, Adam Lowry, Matt Martin Luke Schenn, or even a Pat Maroon. I'm not even including the really tough guys like McDermid, Reaves, Olivier, Deslauriers, Lucic, etc. not sure why some people here think he's Mr. Tough Guy.

He's actually lost his last 3 fights but for some reason he has legendary status here. He's a spot picking clown who would start crying if Reaves even looked at him sideways. Both Benoit and Pacioretty have fought guys a lot tougher than he has.

The Canuck is awesome, but for a Leafs playoff game, get there SUPER early. Like over an hour early if you want a table, when I’ve gone. But it’s a rad time and worth it.

For this game, I say we be the bigger team and play our game and hit them where it hurts the most. On the scoreboard.

However. If the Panthers continue to play dirty and they even consider taking liberties on anybody else, especially Woll. And if someone else gets hurt? Then I would honestly consider dressing Reaves and maybe even Clifford for game 3 and ensure the Panthers play a “Who’s chicklets on the ice do these belong to?” game all game long. I would especially do this if we win game 2 and have a bit of a cushion in the series.

He has to play, we NEED him right now, and we need him at his best.

We can't go Murray, and we can't go to Hildeby those 2 are non options.

Game 2 is critical.

You can't go 0-5 on the PP again and you absolutely CAN NOT take another coaching penalty.

I'm hoping for a big game from Matthews, he's got 7 points in 7 games so he is producing but he doesn't have that dominant game yet.

Mitch had that in game 1 VS Ottawa.

Willy had that in game 1 vs Florida in fact he's got 12 points in 7 games so he's had a couple.

It's Auston turn.

Of course as long as they win that's all that matters.

But I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't like to see Matthews have a 3 or 4 point night tonight and lead the way to a win.
