Hopefully these big hits are taking a toll on Klingberg. Need to target Heiskanen a bit more with those.

Really the only positives were that 3rd line getting in on the forecheck

I don't know how you can keep going back to Monahan - Gaudreau pairing when it's so obviously ineffective.

Because you can't mess up the second or third line who've been effective this playoffs.
You could move Ryan to first line duties, or slide Reider beside John with Lindy at C... but this late... are we making adjustments to find sparks?

Yes move Ryan to the first line. Or put him on 3rd line and move Bennett up. Lucic - Ryan - Dube has been great in the past.

Might try moving Janko up and put Gaudreau with Ryan. Take some of the pressure off johnny.

If the first line goes AWOL again, there's really no point in 'getting through' Dallas TBH. We're living off our third line. Last year it was our 4th line. If these guys don't figure it out this Series, I hope Brad Treliving has his hands on the red button already. Just getting to the playoffs with this talented of an 'on paper' roster is not good enough.

It's just obvious there is a big issue with Johnny and it might be something that isn't going to be solved.

Flames aren't making good decisions with the puck. idk if that's from them not playing well (i.e. all the flubbed pucks in the d-zone) or just decision making (Andersson keeps looking for the stretch pass and it leads to icing)

Flames can't have Ryan's line starting off of against the Stars top line. That's what starts with us getting scored on. Lindholm also looks rusty or straight up bad, I don't get it. Monahan is laying big hits, which isnt something you want from a first line centre. You want goals. He and that entire line need to be better.

If Tkachuk is out we screwed.

Also, being down one after the first is better than what it could've been after the effort they put in.

Swap Lucic and Gaudreau for half a period then that way each member of the 1st line will touch blue ice at least once and will remember what it feels like.

Janko on the first line...?

Can't muck with the other 2 lines that are scoring you don't want to much with that. Can't score less and Janko is responsible defensively.

Might get lucky and get Johnny going.

Johnny is not going to get the puck to him in tight game so Monahan is useless....so is Lindholm, he is not doing much...

Can't get him the puck when he is over 12 feet behind the play.

Last time he played with Gaudreau, he scored 4 in a game, didn't he?

If Tkachuk's out for the game, might be worth considering (if nothing else, double shifting Gaudreau on the 4th)
P sure the suggestion is

Jankowski - Monahan - Lindholm

Gaudreau - Ryan - Rieder

They aren't going to score less 5 on 5
Ryan has looked terrible so far, how does putting Gaudreau with him change that? And Jankowski on the first line--what exactly does that do for this team? How can it logically "get them going"

i dont know who to blame anymore. this has not been an effective 1st line for over a year spanning 2 playoffs...
if it doesn't change soon, trevling needs to be fired if he doesn't do something in the summer
