Started off the season with wins over two playoff teams. Quality wins right off the bat.

Yeah, Freddie was spectacular tonight, which is good, because what the front office did with the goaltending this offseason was...insanely risky. It could pay off, but man, that took an insane amount of guts to do. I still just don't know.

The guys we let go looked far worse tbh. FA was fire tonight.

Early in the season. Nobody's who they're gonna be later in the year, but the points still count, and in years past we left a lot of points on the table in October and November. Nice to see the boys play with some urgency, even if the pieces don't all fit yet. Seeing Coke Can on the fourth line in crunch time was interesting.

Yeah their season has started off as a real sht-show. I think they’ll be alright but don’t envy their start. Bring back Chara won’t help them. At any rate, not shedding too many tears for ‘em.

this year on the broadcasts he's saying LAWRENCE.

Did he figure out he was saying it wrong? Did he have stroke in the off season and forget how to say it?

The correct way is Lawrence, according to the official NHL media handbook this season. So apparently Mike corrected himself. Another thing to take from this guidebook is that Kotkaniemi has yet to provide the real Finnish pronunciation of his name to the rest of the hockey media, only to the Canes brass.

Well managed to get into the Bally app for this one...then of course it crashes right before the Canes score the decisive goal. I had to watch the rest of the game on my iPad.

So anyways, apparently this goaltending move was a good idea. I don't see Mrazek or Ned only giving up 2 on 40 shots.
