Right..
Because alllllll the other teams suffered 0 injuries as well all year..

We just manhandled Carolina who is tied with Edmonton and a lot higher ranked than Calgary and Vancouver.
We just manhandled Ottawa who have the same record as Calgary and Vancouver

But I guess we have NO shot eh
It really depends on WHO on these other teams is injured and what the depth is like. Montreal lost arguably their best overall defenceman and the 4th line fell apart without Heineman. Their depth really wasn’t ready to fill in. Catching Ottawa and Carolina on off nights doesn’t mean we’re the better team overall. The Buffalo game was close and it’ll probably be close tonight.
Montreal is playing.500 hockey in their past 10. The streak is great, but I just don’t see it lasting out west.

Going 1-7-1 shows that he's done a horrendous job at it.
No team in the NHL this year played at a rate of 16GP in 30-days leading up to 4-Nations … NHLPA was talked out of filing a lawsuit

It’s also why Habs had 1-practice from Xmas to 4-Nations… grounds for lawsuits violating off day (rest) requirements in CBA

Yet we willingly chose to play 11 forwards nonstop and exhausting our best players which contributed to that horrible skid.

...and no 2C plus Josh Anderson held together with Duct Tape.
What could go wrong in a protracted stretch run?
- Beck > Dach?

- Struble does ok filling Guhle's shoes

- Anderson is able to maintain his current play

This is essentially the same team as the one that was one of the best in the league for the 2nd quarter of the season, with Sturble in for Guhle and Beck in for Dach. But believe me, I'd be surprised if this team could come back from the 1-9 stretch before the break. Tonight in Buffalo and Thursday in Edmonton will be good tests.

And if there was a lawsuit NHLPA should have lost. Thety are the assholes that caused this. Either agree to start the season earlier or refuse to allow a 2 week tournament.
The idiot Molson should have never allowed the schedule they came up with.

You seem bitter the rebuild phase is has left the building …
No, I'm calling out how the tough schedule wasn't the reason why we have little to no chance of making the playoffs. Marty, all of a sudden, started treating games more seriously when this clearly wasn't the case at the start of the season. It has nothing to do with lawsuits/schedule difficulty that you're trying to use as excuses.

With the league going to fewer pre season games we should be able to start at least a week earlier without distressing the NHLPA.

I always get a laugh when Owen Beck is listed as our 2C.
Anyone who has been watching the games is aware that Jake Evans has been filling that role for quite some time now going back to before Heineman was injured.

Don't get overly excited Owen you are still getting your fourth line minutes.
