What do you do with Evans (and to a lesser extent Armia)?

  • Sign at $4M/5years

  • Trade for 2nd rounder

  • Keep his as a rental and see what shakes out before July 1

Yet he’s playing some of his best hockey….

As Mark Twain once said: “it’s not about the size of the dog in the fight, it’s the size of the fight in the dog”…..

This team has shown lots of resiliency, they’ve played over .600 hockey in last 30GP - that’s not a meaningless sample set…. I wouldn’t count them out too fast

Lavoie says Hutson is paired with Savard in practice and Struble with Xhekaj. Why the f*** would Marty do that when the Hutson/Struble pairing has been great?

Because Savard is a potential trading chip. Lets see the list of scouts for the game tonight.
 
Dvorak won't be traded because of the Dach injury. Savard is too important with helping young Dmen.
Unless Evans and Armia get you a return that is simply too difficult to pass up like the Erat for Forsberg trade from years ago, I expect them to both be kept.
What I can see is a AHL vet acquired to replace Beck in Laval.

And potentially a vet 13F to replace Pezzetta, which I’m not 100% convinced given how good a soldier he’s been causing no fuss

The point is, if he’s banged up and clearly playing hurt, how long do you think that’ll last? He’s not going to be able to play this well all the time. The standings are so tight that they can’t let up for a minute. They’re in the mix right now, but so are 6 other teams with the deadline looming. That’ll have quite an effect on the standings (on what Hughes does or doesn’t do). Just because we’re in the mix right now doesn’t mean he’ll keep the UFA’s or get help. I’m sure they’re looking at the remaining schedule after deadline to figure that out.
Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to see them make it.

He dominated the playoff series and was called out by Torts, Cooper & Yzerman for being a large factor in why CBJ jettisoned TBay out of the playoffs , while Anderson demolished Kucherov shift after shift forcing the latter to get ejected by baseball swinging his stick at Andy’s head out of sheer frustration.

Anderson played that entire playoffs hurt
 
Savard is slow AF this year and Struble is on a streak I don't get it

I don't buy the showcase thing everyone knows he's a 5/6 dfd

Right..
Because alllllll the other teams suffered 0 injuries as well all year..

We just manhandled Carolina who is tied with Edmonton and a lot higher ranked than Calgary and Vancouver.
We just manhandled Ottawa who have the same record as Calgary and Vancouver

But I guess we have NO shot eh
