“I dont know. The players for some reason seem to lack the ability to play tough nosed, fight it out, push back , you aint beating us hockey. I think thats on the coaches. Sometimes they do, but other times they fold up like a cheap lawn chair. That cant be ok, but apparently it is. The Stars coach way back ( Hitchcock) used to say that the Yotes always folded when faced with adversity. Still seems true.”

Like Boombatz said, something has to give

Schmaltz can't buy one.....
newsflash - he’s not good enough

Just another team in the league. Nothing special. We are starting to see the collapse. Wonder when players are going to start asking out.

I mean, if your Keller or Guenther or Cooley, even McBain. You gotta think.
We’re just a nothing team. A below average run of the mil team. Keller, Guenther and Cooley have been horrendous. This team try’s to be too cute. Shoot the puck, bang some body’s and crash the net. It’s one and done if they can ever gain the zone.

This team sucks.

I don't care if it's his fault or not, time to sacrifice Coach T and send a message to the team. No more excuses. Something is rotten in Denmark. Almost everyone on the team is underperforming and that's an understatement.

Bear may have lost the locker room. There is no discipline, the system isn't working, the players aren't executing, whatever. Time for change.

Last year, all the moving rumors or lack of a permanent home supposedly effected the teams performance.... Now we have a new permanent home, maybe the players are adjusting to the move........BA is really only in year 3 of the rebuild, poor guy didn't have as many first round picks as he wanted, and we are par for the course in the 8-10 year playoff team mantra.....Durzi/ Marino are hurt, if they were both in, it would be like having prime Webber/Sutter as a D pairing......Bear is doing a great job, he has installed culture, players like him, he makes all our young players great, teams would stand in line to hire him if he were a free agent....Did I miss anything? Nothing but greatness around here....

Wasn't it you that said the NHL would never leave Phoenix? :sarcasm:

24 MIP's. Your best players are on the bench for about a period. Won't win too many games that way. We are the second most penalized team in the NHL. No wonder we sit 28th in overall standings. Combine that with a dried up PP that sits 3rd. from last a PK 7th. from last. Right now we are on pace for 73pts. My thought on this team changes almost daily. Ride the season out one day, to make a trade now, to maybe looking at a coaching change. What happens if we lose against the Penguins? Is ONE player playing up to their potential?

When there was no pressure on the team coach and GM to win, everything was great around here. NOW, they have run out of excuses and us fans are expecting more, everything goes to shit. The only positive out of this is the Coyote's aren't cursed.

I probably had too high of expectations for the team this year. Expected to be competing for the last wildcard spot. Already those expectations have been dashed.

I guess what GM Bill has to assess is whether the injuries are a legit excuse or if the overall play is regressing. If it is the latter, the next obvious step is a coaching change. Easiest to make especially considering some of the available coaches.

A second blockbuster (Sergachev trade qualifies) might also change the culture for the better.

Fully agree with that. The talent disparity excuse I am seeing from some doesn't pass the smell test anymore. That was true in the Bankruptcy Era but we now have more talent, and forward talent especially, than we have spaces for.

Look around the league. Any team can beat any opponent on any night. Columbus put up seven on Tampa last night!

This is very reminiscent of the last few months of Tocchet. Every game is the same. Lazy plays, dumb plays, too many penalties – especially in the offensive zone. Too many guys looking bland or bad. Poor starts, worse finishes.

Guys like Nick Schmaltz and Lawson Crouse are dragging ass and should be shown the door. It's a joke that both are wearing an 'A' as well.

So yesterday I defended the teams play in the prior 3 games thinking it wasn't as bad as everyone was making it out to be. I still believe that.

But this game was horrific. The Bruins played like absolute sh*t. The UHC team played a rung or two below that. The NHL should offer refunds to everyone who paid money to see that garbage. It was atrocious. I have seen pee-wee hockey games that looked better than either of these teams played.

I agree that there are very few guys on this team that are playing well. I am most disappointed with Cooley lately. Two of his last 4 games have been absolutely terrible. He needs to be sat for a game or two. He started that first period with 7 straight cases of the puck rolling off his stick when he went to shoot or pass. He then took 2 terribly lazy penalties, one that resulted in the only goal of the game. Guenther also looks lost lately. That said, it is hard to find anyone who played well in this game.

The confidence level of this team is trashed. I think it was Dom Moore who stated a couple times that Boston was a fragile team, I saw two incredibly fragile teams.
