Ready for that closed door meeting.
They need to talk this out.
You're not as good/ bad as you think. We've been moping around for a week. Time to snap out of it and get to work.

I sometimes wonder if moving him up would be a good move. I’m as confident or more confident with him being able to convert with his shot as I am with anyone else on this lineup. They may not feel his defensive game is good enough maybe.
I think that’s probably it and I tend to agree. I don’t want him in the top 6 but they might as well try him on the third line with Pinto, might help get Pinto going.

Wasn't his fault tonight

Could've been 5-2

I don't care about this anymore. I care about the following:

Which goalie was better? The answer is Samsonov.

Ullmark needs to outplay the other goalie. He is supposed to be a top 5 goalie. He's outplayed not a single one he's went up against I think except one.

"this is different than previous years. Doesn't matter that the team is racking up a bunch of losses in a row. The team is playing well. This is a good thing." -some sens fans lol

- Norris' one-timer is AWOL, so probably broken
- Brady had a maintenance day? probably broken, at least temporarily
- Sanderson probably playing hurt
- Ullmark might finally be over whatever injury he had
- Perron dealing with family stuff, probably rusty

I don't want to make excuses, but if any of the above is true, at least make room for players who are 100%, reduce the ice time of players playing through injury. Play the hot hands.

- move Gaudette to PP1
- move Gaudette to top 6
- use Chabot on PP1
- bring up Ostapchuk, play him on the 3rd line, sit Cousins

Was at this one, Ullmark wasn't the problem. The rest of the team didn't show up until the third period
This. I was in the 200s right across from the bench and they came out flat again.

Greig, Pinto, Perron, Amadio, looked awful through 2 periods.....especially disappointed in Pinto... i think a trade is a possibility between him or Greig

Pinto has been by far the biggest disappointment for me this year. Giroux is old and Perron is dealing with some serious stuff… but him? Complete passenger.

I’d start taking calls.

The secondary scoring on this team has been abysmal.

The only people that score are Tkachuk, Stützle, Norris, Batherson and Gaudette.

I actually checked and in all of November there are only 4 total goals scored by other players. Amadio with 2, Greig with 1, Jensen with 1.

That’s exactly something a GM would say before… making a trade.

The day before signing Ullmark Staios was on TSN1200 and said he “hoped to start discussions soon”.

The next 9 games are “soft” competition (although I’m sure the other teams have Ottawa circled as a slump buster as well).

They need to go 6-3, at worst.

If they can’t? I’d imagine the selling will begin.

We intentionally got rid of players with speed so we could replace them with slow, plodding players. But they have experience so that totally makes it worth it.

Eh the only speedster we got rid of is Joseph, and he’s a tertiary player. Gregor is a great skater and Jensen is an improvement on Chychrun. On the margins we’re fine.

The problem has been, and still is, the speed of our “top” players. Fixing that requires a much bigger trade.

There’s no season-saving trade. The contracts we have are moved during the offseason, not now.

It wouldn’t be a season saving trade. It’d be a “let’s get the wheels in motion on rebuilding this thing” trade. A guy like Batherson or Pinto could easily be moved in season.

Disagree. Chychrun is a better and faster skater than Jensen. This has nothing to do with fit, it’s a straight comparison.

Amadio is slow. Perron is slow. Cousins is slow. And no I don’t mean slower than the guys they “replaced” but slow in the more literal sense.

Strong disagree on Jensen vs Chychrun. Jensen is a faster, more fluid skater.

And yeah, Perron is slow. So was Tarasenko. Cousins is slow. So was Kastelic.

Those are marginal players. I don’t think having Joseph over Amadio makes this a good team.

The problem is that too many guys playing 18 minutes a night are slow and lack finish.

Gaudette needs to play a proper defensive game to be in the top-6.
