Were there line rushes this morning? Will be interesting to see if the Kakko C experiment continues.

Kakko was a bull at the dot.
Even if he's not up to playing center full time positionally, they really should give him the responsibility at face offs. The sample size is not huge, but he seems to be better than Chytil. 2nd PP unit actually has a chance now when they can get the cycle going inside the zone instead of recovering it from their own end.

This is not uncommon either. When Landeskog was still healthy, he basically took 30% of the faceoffs even while MacKinnon was on the ice.

Did Kreider not take Mika’s draws fairly frequently not too long ago?

Similar sentiment to what I’d said in the last GDT, but I think I’ve said this several times the last few years as well - I never root for a loss, and obviously will be watching and be annoyed if we are losing, but the team is so stale and so unenjoyable to watch, I almost hope for a 6 point McDavid torching and the Oilers to drop a TD on us, just to see if it finally inspires some changes. We’ve changed coaches how many times? It’s time to change the personnel.

Wonder which pair he’s gonna do again against
Lindgren-Trouba will be lucky to hold McDavid to one highlight reel goal. Unlikely, but hopeful they move Lindgren to bottom pair on limited minutes and reunite Trouba with Schneider.

My bet is that the Calgary Flames weren't sexy enough for our precious players and they were saving themselves for the showdown with Edmonton Oilers.

The McDavid highlight will be scoring the fastest goal to start a game in NHL history...and it still won't stop Lavi from rolling out Trouba and Lindgren to start each game.

There is f**k-all to distract a NY person in Stickville Canada, so maybe the boys come out ready to play from jump, and don’t let up a first-minute goal against.

[Cadillac Trivia - who were the 4 Rongos McJebus skated thru for a segsy goal last season (or two seasons ago who can remember)] ?

i'm sure the team has plenty of other excuses locked and loaded.

Long western road trip, too cold, bad refs, thinking about Thanksgiving dinner, etc

Got back before 10. Not sure if that's a good thing.

Anyway expect big time games from Todd Marchant, Benoit Pouliot and Wayne Gretzky.
