People claiming a lack of talent being responsible, how are you explaining last year - mid tier players over-performing in a perfect storm type context, I assume?
No, I had the girls clean up before I did the backyard. The tractor did find some they missed though, so the tires are a little nasty.Did you step in any of your dogs shit? Never fails - key is keeping old sneakers for yard work
I’m a big me and I guy. How dare you
I’m not so sure that it is bad players as much as it is playing badly. You could defend against our offense blindfolded. The breakout pass is a diagonal across our defensive zone. If it is not there, it is a lengthwise pass up the boards to a player standing on the other blue line. Normally a stretch pass, but everybody in the five neighboring counties knows where the puck is going, so they are on that player before he even gets the puck. Even if he gets the puck, it’s a dump in and a battle behind the net for the puck. If we win it, it is either a pass out into a maze of legs in the front or a bounce pass off the boards back to the point for a shot into the same maze. When we have a three on two and the puck is in the middle, that player passes to a wing, who is covered and may not even receive the pass. They should be shooting. All too predictable, the play itself is terrible.Don't be fooled by the points or the standings, this is a BAD hockey team. They had no business even getting a point out of that but Korpi saved their butts on numerous occasions. Also good Freddy showed up and for some reason he likes to play well against his home town team but we generally don't get that effort every night. St. Louis should probably trade target him.
You can see the offensive creativity on the Merkulov play. Not that he was all that good (he wasn't) but the creativity stands out when it happens, just like it did at times with Poitras, because there's so little of it from the rest of the roster. When it happens it looks great and it can be lethal but this team is sorely, sorely, lacking high end offensive talent. Most of our (few) goals come from point shots and net front play. Now there's nothing wrong with that, it's basic 101 hockey, shoot and tip grab rebounds. But IF that's your only weapon you are very easy to defend, and you can see this team just simply CANNOT SCORE.
Outshot and outplayed by a rubbish Blues team with half their D injured. We all knew Bergeron and Krejci were great players but I think maybe we still haven't realized just how great they were and how irreplaceable they have been. Last year we maybe lucked out a little and we got great goaltending all year and several things went right so we ended up better than we should have and this year several things have gone wrong and a few players are slumping and aging and maybe most of all Swayman has most definitely NOT lived up to his big contract and so we have this muddled uninspired mess that tries to win 2-1 hockey games every night and occasionally falls apart and gets blown out like in Dallas.
This team is going nowhere. We desperately need high skilled offensive talent and for the good of the future (the present is a write off) we should dump the aging vets and play the fast young kids mistakes and all. It won't win now, but it just might help speed up the transition. This year at best, even if Swayman gets good again, we squeak in and get bounced early and then what?
Disappointing.
They had guys that were elevated last year that had career seasons. Those guys fell back to earth this year.People claiming a lack of talent being responsible, how are you explaining last year - mid tier players over-performing in a perfect storm type context, I assume?

I feel like Guy Pearce looksHorror is not for me, but the Wolf Creek films definitely have a good reputation. We don't have a big film industry, but they produce some solid stuff. Jarratt has been great in multiple different sorts of roles over
They all fell back at the exact same time? Something doesn't add up.They had guys that were elevated last year that had career seasons. Those guys fell back to earth this year.
It goes the other way. People saying Monty can't coach and has no idea what he's doing.... how do you explain how he's been every year in the league, including on another team?People claiming a lack of talent being responsible, how are you explaining last year - mid tier players over-performing in a perfect storm type context, I assume?
Maybe Jacobs should lighten his work load.Sweeney has been preoccupied with his other job
Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney has been named General Manager of Team Canada for the 2025 NHL 4 Nations Face-Off
Because what they have been doing for the last decade has worked.Bruins fans wanted for years to get rid of him - don’t do this to them
I want a 13 year Buffalo rebuild where sometime around year 7 it feels like a Stanley Cup when we put together a three-game winning streak
It's bad players because they are collectively SLOW. Pasta is the only one who can play up tempo and he has zero support most of the time. He's all one and done and teams key on him. You can get away with a roster full of half these guys but not a full team. You need a mix of skill and size/grit along with 2 ways players. We have nearly an entire roster of 3rd or 4th liners. It just will not succeed.I’m not so sure that it is bad players as much as it is playing badly. You could defend against our offense blindfolded. Take your fandom goggles
Better players than their minor league replacements, and a complete lack of secondary scoring and play-making.People claiming a lack of talent being responsible, how are you explaining last year - mid tier players over-performing in a perfect storm type context, I assume?
But team chemistry needs effort to be built.Bruins brass severely underestimated how big of a loss veteran leadership is.
Shattenkirk. Forbort. JVR. JDB. Heinen. Throw Ullmark in there
Team chemistry matters. They lost a lot of good players and good people with personality and chemistry in the off-season.
This current team looks lost.
You really are taking Bruins game badly!!!! Referring and quoting how MTL passes well the puck and getting shot. The Habs are insufferable to watch right now and are really really bad!Everyone is saying the Bruins are slow and they are, but when you watch others games you just see how bad it is. I’m watching some of the Leafs & Oilers right now. What a massive difference vs how the Bruins move the puck and skate. No compassion even if the Leafs are struggling. I also flipped on Montreal and CBJ. I watched Montreal score a PP goal by moving the puck and getting a shot. What a concept!!!! Watch other games and you’ll see just how far off the Bruins are to being a playoff team even just a WC team with some speed and scoring. Changing the coach won’t change that but they have to do something I guess.
How do you explain Dave Lewis was given Bruins head coach back then...It goes the other way. People saying Monty can't coach and has no idea what he's doing.... how do you explain how he's been every year in the league, including on another team?
