Don't be fooled by the points or the standings, this is a BAD hockey team. They had no business even getting a point out of that but Korpi saved their butts on numerous occasions. Also good Freddy showed up and for some reason he likes to play well against his home town team but we generally don't get that effort every night. St. Louis should probably trade target him.

You can see the offensive creativity on the Merkulov play. Not that he was all that good (he wasn't) but the creativity stands out when it happens, just like it did at times with Poitras, because there's so little of it from the rest of the roster. When it happens it looks great and it can be lethal but this team is sorely, sorely, lacking high end offensive talent. Most of our (few) goals come from point shots and net front play. Now there's nothing wrong with that, it's basic 101 hockey, shoot and tip grab rebounds. But IF that's your only weapon you are very easy to defend, and you can see this team just simply CANNOT SCORE.

Outshot and outplayed by a rubbish Blues team with half their D injured. We all knew Bergeron and Krejci were great players but I think maybe we still haven't realized just how great they were and how irreplaceable they have been. Last year we maybe lucked out a little and we got great goaltending all year and several things went right so we ended up better than we should have and this year several things have gone wrong and a few players are slumping and aging and maybe most of all Swayman has most definitely NOT lived up to his big contract and so we have this muddled uninspired mess that tries to win 2-1 hockey games every night and occasionally falls apart and gets blown out like in Dallas.

This team is going nowhere. We desperately need high skilled offensive talent and for the good of the future (the present is a write off) we should dump the aging vets and play the fast young kids mistakes and all. It won't win now, but it just might help speed up the transition. This year at best, even if Swayman gets good again, we squeak in and get bounced early and then what?

Disappointing.

Missed this one, doesn't seem worth watching back in full. The problems are pretty entrenched and well-known, sounds like more of the same here. They won't fix themselves, so what are management going to do?

Forgive me for this, but one thing I did enjoy was a clip of fellow Aussie Nathan Walker's goal. That was a really nice shot. Sure would be great if the Bruins could deliver a few more like that.

The lack of cohesion behind the bench leads to a lack of confidence and confusion on the ice which is starting to lead to I don't care from the couch.
The lack of cohesion behind the bench is due to the lack of actual top 6 players on the roster and the coach being forced to slot up plugs that are ill suited for what's being asked. This isn't an effort issue or the players tuning the coach out scenario, it's a flat out lack of talent. That's on the GM and the clown above him who wants "bigger, tougher guys" on the roster instead of skilled players.

Not to be a party pooper......

But since Oct. 16, they've played 14 games and have scored just 27 goals. That's 1.93 goals per game.

Just to put that into context, only 6 teams in the entire salary cap era have ever averaged less than 2.10 goals per game. The last 4 teams all finished dead last by a mile.

2010-11 New Jersey Devils - 2.09 (23rd)

2011-12 Minnesota Wild - 2.02 (24th)

2013-14 Buffalo Sabres - 1.83 (30th)

2014-15 Buffalo Sabres - 1.87 (30th)

2016-17 Colorado Avalanche - 2.01 (30th) 22 wins.

2019-20 Detroit Red Wings - 2.00 (31st)

What we have witnessed the past month of Bruins hockey is historically bad offensive production.

I watch them and think they are honestly the worst team in the entire league off the rush while simultaneously being the worst team in the entire league at defending the rush.

There isn't a coach or trade on planet earth that can fix the offensive woes of this team. Then factor in contending teams pick this team apart defensively. It's done. This season is over. This team isn't fixable in-season. Sell off whatever UFAs and guys left on one-year deals that they can, and try to recoup assets/clear cap space and try to re-invent this team's offense next year while hiring a coach who can get them back to playing sound defense.

Firing Monty now might help them defensively, but with an historically bad offensive team like this group is, no coach is going to change that. The talent just isn't there.

Worst Bruins team I've seen since 2005-06 and we all know how that turned out. Even the Dave Lewis Bruins were in the hunt until the final month before the 18-wheeler went off a cliff. This team is basically done and it's not even Black Friday yet. It's historically bad. The numbers are right there you don't need some fancy advanced stat to prove it.

Players couldn't play for Cassidy so they got him canned.
Players aren't stepping up for Monty, I hope they get an
SOB, hard ass mean as f*** A-hole behind the bench next.
If they don't want to play for him they can drop their NMC/NTC's
and allow the team to get value for them.
Don't wanna man-up? Then leave. I'm sure there are players who
would be way more motivated than this menagerie.
