How on Earth does Bannister not think about his next contract? He's a provider of a family, and his current contract lacks long-term financial security. He's not like Ken Hichcock, Darryl Suter, or Jim Montgomery who have extensive resumes at the NHL level and can be recycled by a new team. He's in a completely different position than those guys.

What I mean is I doubt he's making roster decisions today based on a hypothetical contract he may sign in two years. He's trying to win games now. That would be pretty absurd if he's thinking two years ahead when deciding whether or not to play Bolduc.

I'm not necessarily saying that his thought process directly oscillates between his next contract and Bolduc, but to pretend that he isn't motivated to earn his next contract that's only 2 years away is naive. He is a provider of a family. This is a massive opportunity not just for him but also for his family, who just spent a lot of time away from him while he was traveling on an AHL bus. That incentive alone will diminish his patience to develop younger players and allow them to learn from their mistakes on the ice rather than in the press box.

I hope Buch will suddenly be back to his old self on the wing, but I'm not so sure. A lot of fumbled pucks and bad decisions. Might just be declining honestly.

Our vaunted goaltending duo hasn’t exactly been tearing it up this yr. Hofer has sucked today. You hold the puck possession machine in Carolina to 12 shots through 40 you should be feeling good.

Eh, rookies get scratched all the time. He's played 14/18 games so far, which is more than Kap and Texier although both of those guys had minor injuries. Like I said before, I would have sent him down awhile ago but it's not like he's being ignored by the coaching staff this year. With the way the Faksa line has been playing lately not sure whose ice time I'd cut to give Bolduc more.

Honestly we haven't been playing that bad in this game considering it's our 3rd game in 4 nights playing an elite team on the road. Just can't finish scoring chances as usual and the useless power play.
