We can still beat up the Oilers! Life is good!

Goal 1: Forbort(Clifford, Shore)
Goal 2: Toffoli(Carter, Martinez)
Goal 3: Carter short-handed(Toffoli)
Goal 4: Setoguchi(Forbort, Dowd)

First Star: Jeff Carter (1g, 1a)
Second Star: Derek Forbort(1g, 1a)
Third Star: Tyler Toffoli (1g, 1a)

Kings now 8-9-1(17pts), 4th in the Pacific.

If the Kings can win the next two games, we'd be looking at 10-9-1 at the 20game mark. I'd consider that a great victory.

Man, Nolan seems pretty useless to me. I'd rather see a young gun from Ontario take his place, but I guess no one is ready, and Andy A will be back soon enough anyway.

Forbort and Dowd are coming right in and having a good impact on this team.

Nolan is useless. He's been useless since 2013. He just keeps staying healthy enough to hang onto that last position, but he goes back to the bench once Andreoff comes back.

Oiler fan. Made me laugh.

I mean, he's quite literally our 15th forward. I'd say he's pretty damn good for that role.

So what do the Kings do with all their d-men in the expansion draft? They can't afford to lose Dowd to they'll have to go 7-3-1. So they'll have to expose Forbort and pray Vegas takes McNabb instead.

"Are the Oilers legit???"

Yeah. A legit dumpster fire. They are positionally handicapped. Seriously just playing pond hockey system out there.

Yep. Incredibly fast and skilled but there's absolutely no structure out there. It's basically letting McDavid/Draisaitl/RNH do whatever they want and whatever they can. Defensemen are a joke.

Jarret Stoll talked to Rosen/Media at EDM game, and said if he doesn't receive an NHL offer in the next few months; he will accept an offer to assist the Kings in Player Development.

Good For Stoll, I think he would make an excellent coach some day.

Oilers board is straight melting down. Cheer up ya'll, you still have Lucic for 7 more years.

No way they expose Forbort to keep McNabb.

Setoguchi now 4th on the team in 5v5 scoring.

Setoguchi, King, Brown, and Dowd with more 5v5 points than Kopitar. Clifford and Lewis tied with Kopitar. Forbort, and Martinez, with more 5v5 points than Doughty and Muzzin. Basically everyone has more than Muzzin.

Big win though. Division game. They won in regulation for the first time this year giving up a goal. Off to a good start in what is probably a make or break end to the month of November.

Lombardi will have to get creative. The way the season has gone so far, you would think Vegas will take either Dowd or Forbort. Of course Vegas has to hit a certain % of the cap, and Dowd and Forbort are cheap. Maybe some sort of trade with Vegas to not take X player. Maybe leave Carter, Martinez, or Muzzin unprotected with the idea they don't take the big money/big year contracts if Lombardi wants to get crazy. Maybe there's a team out there that would want Martinez or Muzzin before the draft. Boston? Buffalo? I don't know.

Exciting offense, but the rest? Just yeesh. I've caught a few Oilers games this year and they're just a mess defensively. I think they're playing the system called just give McDavid the puck and we'll figure out the rest. I don't think it is going to work. He's not Gretzky.

They only got off to the hot start because Talbot was playing above his head.

And I'm ok with all of this. They're literally carrying the team right now. Since our last cup year, we've taken an absolute dump in the depth department.

Carrying might be going too far. The depth is providing a floorboard that is keeping the Kings from falling into the basement, which is all that depth is really supposed to do. It's Carter and Toffoli scoring last night that got the team a regulation win in the division. With just Forbort and Setoguchi, the game goes into OT, and Edmonton gets at least a point.

Kopitar, Doughty, Muzzin, Gaborik, Quick. The 5 guys that played in the World Cup. None of them with great starts to the year for various reasons. Wonder how many other teams have had every guy that played start slow/not be available? Bergeron only has 4 points for the Bruins, but Marchand has 16. Crosby has been great after getting healthy. Kane and Hossa have been getting a point every game, and Toews is getting things together. Sort of a mixed bag I guess when looking over the rosters quickly.

2 points back of Edmonton, just 1 back of SJ. 2 games this weekend, 1 against the Ducks. Going to need some more big games from the Carter line.
