I don't think you have this right. Carlo slows down so he can play the puck without crashing into the boards by himself. That's 100 percent on Benn, who sees numbers the entire way and is hitting Carlo from behind whether or not Carlo slows down or not.

It looks a lot worse in slow motion IMO. It shows Benn having a lot more time to make up his mind than he did in real time.

I do think it's a penalty. But Carlo is hitting the brakes earlier than most defenseman would in that situation and Benn is in pursuit. He also just doesn't seem prepared for contact. He's got his feet firmly planted, when really he should be expecting contact and letting himself bounce off Benn's hit a bit by being light on his skates.

I guess what I'll say is it certainly would be far from outrageous if they ruled it a major. It is a hit in the numbers at a high rate of speed and it's not one of those "quick turn" situations. But just because it doesn't fit that classification does not mean Carlo doesn't put himself in a bad spot. Just my two cents.

If we hit one of their players it would easily be called a major. The NHL needs to review these calls and Carlo did all he could do and Benn knew what he was doing and gets away with it.

Back in 2017 Carlo got his by Ovie from behind and I think Ovie did not get suspended either. Then Ovie's bodyguard Wilson got Carlo too (2021) with a dirty hit from behind.

I don't mind missed calls or mistakes in the flow of the game. But when they take the time to review something and still make a stupid call there's just no reasonable explanation

So after a few deep breaths after two absolutely horse bleep calls that should get both refs sent back the the ECHL

If I were the Bs coach ..i right now I would be saying I don't care what the final score is....but every time, and I mean every time you have a chance to hit someone from the Stars you do....and if I see a single fly by tomorrow I will skate you until you puke

This could be his 4th concussion. He had one last year in January and the 2 dirty Capital hits from behind, which I assume were concussions.
