What advanced stats are those? 5on5 Lindholm is...

1st in Shot Attempts for/against.
1st in Goal differential.
1st in Scoring Chance differential.
1st in Expected Goal %.

And he's doing that with 63% Dzone starts.

Relative expected goals% - 6 out of 7
On-ice goal differential (-14) - 7 out of 7
On-ice expected goals differential - 6 out of 7
On-ice shot attempt% (Corsi) - 3 out of 7

Counting stats for a guy with the second most minutes on the backend don't really tell the story.

Where are you getting your data from? Per Natural Stat Trick, even using relative stats, at 5v5 Hampus is still 1st on the Bruins for corsi, 1st for shots for, 1st xGF, 1st SCF, and 2nd HDCF. He's best in show, numbers wise, however you measure it.

I guess "however you measure it" is not true if we're all using different measurements.

Nope. Hampus is still 1st on Money Puck in all the categories you listed. You need to look at 5v5, not 'all situations'. The latter brings into play his extensive PK work, which, no doubt about it, has been horrid.

Ooooooooh. Literally never noticed that. Thank you.

Considering how bad he's been on the PK it makes sense his 5v5 numbers look significantly better without them.

Definitely. And all good. Had me second-guessing for a moment there. Way I see it, Lindholm's had his bad patches, same as the rest, but he's also offered more on the positive side than anyone else on the back end. Moving well, looking to make plays. His purely defensive work needed to be better but even there I felt he was improving. Sucks to lost him just as he was building some good momentum.

A lot of betting sites have us toast tonight. I'll put a couple of bucks on our boys . I think they gonna battle hard tonight and oesterle is gonna fit well on bottom pairing.

Don I saw this today and it made me wonder if you’re Danny Devitos twin?

Big game.

If they win this handily everything that's been said will be tossed aside and it'll all be back on track.

If they squeak a win it'll still be on the right track but some of the issues will linger.

If they lose it'll be this team still has big problems.

If they can't score and lose big it'll be fire them all this team sucks.

All based on 1 game.

Agreed Lindholm has been the best deeman this year, unless someone needs glasses, lol.

Glad Brown got the call, he was better than meh Johnson in pre-season.

I don't need glass to see Lindholm has not been the best defenseman for the Bruins so far. And even if he were, that's no great shakes.

He has the most giveaways on the team. More than Pasta!

He is -4 and has 5 hits, both the worst of all the defensemen.

He's also been the worst on the PK.

Closer to the worst than the best.

Calling up Patrick Brown is just embarrassing. How absolutely void of prospects and talent can Providence be? Why not call up Viel or Abote? At least they would play tough. Not that Monty would want any of that.
No, not embarrassing, it makes sense. They just want a temporary veteran bottom line fill in. They are not at the point where they want to throw the season away or just try rookies who failed to impress in camp. That would smack of desperation and try anything. Brown had a good camp too.

More importantly I think they want to see if Poitras and Lysell can develop some chemistry for later in the year or more likely next year.

He is -4, but then he's +4 5v5, which is best for defenders on this team. Not too worried about the hits, not his game. Giveaways are too high, but then kind of like Pasta he's looking to carry the puck and make plays more than the other defenders, so to some extent it's excusable. PK, no excuses though, hasn't been good enough there at all.

Looking purely at the defensive numbers, he's 3rd on D for shots against per 60, 3rd for GA per 60, 2nd for xGA per 60, 1st for scoring chances against per 60, and 2nd for high danger chances against per 60.

Put that all together, and relative to his teammates I still argue he's been amongst the best 5v5 even in his own end. Far from perfect, a few silly errors, can be better, no question, but decent in a group that's been struggling. Just my opinion.
