How did I not know this about him???

Hamburger incident

[edit]
While he was playing with the Thetford Mines Prolab of the Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey (LNAH) on March 13, 2005, in a game against the Verdun Dragons, Gaetz did not take a shift during the first or second periods. During the second intermission, Gaetz changed out of his jersey and skates and went out to the concession stand to buy a hamburger and "promptly ate it". Thetford Mines Prolab considered this disrespectful to the players, and suspended Gaetz for the remainder of the season.[5][6] The incident later earned Gaetz the reputation as one of the "quirkiest athletes in pro sports" in Canada.[7]

GRAN-DAD!!
I did that removing the equipement after not getting a shift in the 1st and 2nd period. Was the last game that coach coached also lol

Wtf a wild Kunin appears on the first line!

I wonder if there is a somewhat promising young guy that can play that spot over Dellandrea and Goodrow. Hmmmmmmm.

Istg if said player just ends up like Dylan strome that's gonna be disappointing as f***

It’s kind of funny how the one line that actually makes sense is working, and the lines that look like they were put together by one of those inflatable crazy arm men at random are not. Who woulda thought.

Eklund has been playing well all year, he just isn't productive on a bad team when he isn't paired with a play driver, put him back with Granlund and suddenly he's "working hard" again, lol

Feel like Will needs a play driver on his line right now to help him adjust into the NHL and just get more offensive zone touches. We currently only have Celebrini and Granlund that can truly drive a line and unfortunately W. Smith is not getting that opportunity. Instead we have Dellandrea and Kunin getting a chance with Celebrini….

I know the hope was Smith could drive his own line but that is not happening right now and that is absolutely fine he is only 19.

Guy has talent. Not a question. But he can be incredibly lazy when he gets frustrated. Both can be true.
He has been physically engaged all season.

Even before the scoring he was working hard on the back check, throwing the body, and making plays.

Yet the guys that get praised for their hard work are either not physically engaged (Kunin with 0 hits) or are horrible with the puck (Goodrow).

It's a tough act to balance

They're bog committed to playing him exclusively at center, whkch makes sense for his long term development, but the only play drivers on the team are really Celebrini and Granlund right now, so Wario would need to get flexible to let that happen

I'd like to see them bring back the top-6 from the start of the season to give Smith that support:

72-71-73
64-2-20

But it seems they're trying to prioritize giving Smith lower minutes and bottom-6 deployment over playing with Granlund, but it means he's stuck with a couple of possession anchors on his wing and he isn't ready to carry them, there's no great answer right now

I love how the broadcast are all talking about how the Goodrow fight sparked the team and caused our comeback…but is it also possible we are just a better team when Goodrow is not on the ice for 5 minutes? Just a thought
His unselfishness to take himself out of the rotation for 5 minutes was just the inspiration they needed, we over me

Except he's at wing today, so why isn't he on the wing in the top 6?
