Tampa 4-2. I just do not think we have the firepower to beat skilled teams on the road. Dallas was a pleasant surprise. However, it should be a good game. Perhaps our good structure and their tendency to run and gun will win the Bruins the day. Here is hoping the dads bring them some luck. Tampa will start with guns a blazin for the first half of the game. I hope the Bruins are prepared.
How many times have you picked the B's to lose the last two seasons??

..your batting average must be hovering around .167

Closer to two hundred but it gets much better come playoff time. It will get better this season too, particularly after about game 45. Btw, fwiw, I did bomb out of survivor I this year. (I was pretty good last year). Thanks for nothing Blackhawks.

We've played three skilled teams on the road - the Stars, Red Wings and Kings - and beaten two of them, and lost to the other by a single goal. So evidently the 'firepower' to outscore quality opponents on the road is very much there. Tampa will be a tough matchup, they always are, but the Bruins can take it to them. Still no Vasilevskiy for the Bolts, so that helps for a start. We've also beaten them 6 out of the last 7 occasions. No need to fear a trip to TB.
I would include Toronto on the list of skilled teams too, even though Bruins won in the shootout. :sarcasm:

I am not doing this Florida trip as I have full plate next weekend with Black Friday, 2 games at MSG on Saturday ( Bruins and BU ) and the Pats in the Medowlands on Sunday :help:

I hope the team and the Dads have a blast at Papa Jacobs winter cottage in Wellington on Tuesday.

The next 4 games will give us an idea of what exactly we have.

I disagree......I do not think we have much firepower and it will show on the road against better teams, especially the quicker ones like say NJ.. Btw Johansson is no Vas but he is pretty good.

Didn't you keep spouting this very same "firepower" schtick last year, a year where the Bruins outscored their opponents more than any other team in history? I've got to say, it takes a lot of gumption to stick to your guns in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

some stats for you (seems like you enjoy numbers):

tampa has allowed the first goal 12 times this season (only NJ has given up more first goals)
tampa has been outscored 9-3 in the 1st period in the last 5 games
boston has scored the first goal in 7 straight games
boston has had a 2-0 lead in 5 of the last 7 games

obviously every game is a different story, but that's what's been going on the last few weeks.

Yeah, isn't a amazing, since the team has taken such a physical beating the last few games according to some folks around here. :sarcasm:

It isn't a debate. Since Lucic has been injured teams have been taking runs and the Bruins have had little to no response. Mainly due to personnel.

The team is playing very well otherwise. The puck transition tempo last game was phenomenal, pushing the pace against Montreal.

Is it only me who doesn’t see the Bruins getting run everywhere? I mean there’s always some hits but I don’t see anything close to what is being described.

I see it just the other way. I love how we match up vs Tampa. What about their bottom 9 bothers you? That's a great situation for us.

Big advantage on D and G for us also.

I see a W!

Tampa should be motivated more for this game than the Bruins I suspect ? They want to stay in the playoff mix and possibly move up . Doesn’t mean they are going to win , of course but the Bruins need to be ready . If Ullmark is solid I think the Bruins will take this one .

I disagree.

Not sure what you are seeing or what you think "taking runs" means.

I’m excited for this game. The B’s seem to bring a lot of energy when playing against Tampa. I think it will be a hard fought “spirited” game.
If we have the same level of goaltending we’ve had so far, I think we win…if not…well… We still win.
Poitras with a well deserved point or two tonight.

Good relevant stats, and I watch almost everyone's highlights, so I am aware Tampa starts slowly. However, this is kind of a statement game for them. They may allow the first goal but I guarantee an onslaught.

I guess you are more then overdue to hit on one of your never ending predictions that the Bruins will lose.
