2nd night of a back to back. Team that has played a lot recently including games short handed and add that to the already very short summer after going through 3 hard hitting game 7's. The game in Anaheim was one that would take a day or two to recover from. The injuries. Plus the team is playing poorly lately.

Mix that all together and you get tonight ugly result.

I was looking right at Doughty when he was cracking up. Highlight of the night (which isn't saying much, I guess).

I stopped commenting on the game because it was so awesome I fell asleep.

Lisa Dillman tweeted that a few days ago she asked Kings players what forward would be the best candidate to fall back to D. All of them said Lewis.

Honestly, this is the worst this team has looked since January 2012. Different circumstances, key guys out, but they're awful in all key areas they usually do well in (win or loss).

The magic button in April may not be there this year.

Because most of the forwards on this team have proven they can step up when the games really matter. Short term there are some people struggling, but it's not a long term problem. The defense has multiple people playing who aren't NHL caliber (not even close to be honest) and another guy in Matt Greene who is hanging on by a thread. And even if everyone gets back and healthy one of Greene and McNabb will be playing and we are one injury from both playing, which would be a disaster.

So essentially it doesnt matter if the Kings win or loose. The main subject is this crappy defense anyway.

When the Kings win with 5-1 its the greatness of our forwards. When the Kings lose with 2-0, its the failure of our defense.

Do not get me wrong, I see what you are writing and partly agree. Yet I burst out in laughing if you get 2 goals against and cant even score a single goal, that people are going to call out our defense in almost every post.
