See, the Leafs are the "better team" and they're winning, so the NHL can't give them power plays. They have to watch for the next Ottawa PP, because Ottawa is worse and badly needs the help to keep this close.

I love Campbell want him to be our starter next year barring a Freddy led cup and a 2 year discount deal but he has no track record in the playoffs. Going with Campbell is so bold its asking to be fired by dubas should leafs fall early with Campbell struggling.

This year campbell should have gotten 23-25 starts if healthy and hopefully would have been positioned to be our 1A next year with us getting a veteran 1B

This is very optimistic for a goaltender we haven't seen much of.

But I hope you're right and Campbell is up to the task.

I think partly Freddy gets hyped because of the string of goaltenders we had between Belfour and Freddy.

That is fair. He is better than all of them overall with Riemer being the only close guy at his peak. Sadly reimer simply lost his confidence and wasnt good enough. 2011-2014 I was more of a reimer fan than a leaf fan, remember being crazy and hoping bernier would lose games or we win high scoring games so reimer would get more starts.

I never particularly liked Andersen, always considered him a good but overrated guy. But the hate he is getting this year is unfair

I'm not one to lump on Andersen like many do, and I don't think it's fair to say he has been bad tonight, but he certainly hasn't been very good either. Say what you want about the quality of the chances he allowed goals on (some dangerous, some not so much). We've outchanced them pretty handily tonight, in terms of anything that's looked actually dangerous, and like many nights it feels like all the good chances go in our net while the other goalie is making great stops all night to keep them in things. It gets tiring. Just because it's a high danger chance doesn't inherently mean it shouldn't be stopped.

Officiating has been rather strange again tonight and not in our favor really.

Always seem to "let them play" when we are getting the better of the action and other teams are allowed to interfere like crazy, which is most nights.

Usually out of 82 games, Leafs will only draw calls when they in offensive zone like 2 games per 82.

Other than that usually Leafs have to be dummied or brutally assaulted to draw calls. Been this way always. Leafs will never get the real ref advatange. But if you call it posters get mad saying it's an elite 5v5 team so they shouldn't complain. Whatever.
