I'd try boyd at 3c and move Spezza up as well. Drop kerfoot and engvall to the 4th line for a period.

I’ve grown to love Spezza (that feels weird to type) but he’s old. Keep him on the power play or give him a shift or two in the top 6, but leave him on the fourth line.

I’m still hopeful but my confidence has lessened over his tenure. He literally looks different in net some nights, you can tell when he’s over correcting we’re in trouble, then he’s quiet and awesome.

He just didn’t seem concerned with the developing play on that first one. He didn’t even follow Batherson over for some reason.

I don't think so. I'm guessing they allowed him to pass through waivers simply so he could be assigned to the taxi squad, even if only to start. I have a hard time imagining him not being able to outplay Vesey or Engvall for a spot.

And we still get the contract flexibility either way

Sure, but there’s no guarantee he plays, either way it works.

Thornton looked great with the big boys. Hyman worked out great on line #2 minus the production. He kept the Sens hemmed in by himself. Looks like a smart play. Keep it going.

Nobody is saying dermott isn’t playing well...just we/they think Lehtonen brings more to the lineup than dermott...he’s playing well I have no issues per say with him being in the lineup, I just think Lehtonen brings more

I think Dermott clearly brings more right now. Lehtonen may well have the higher upside though and that's what people are clamouring for him for but I definitely don't think it makes us better having him over Dermott currently

He is an absolute necessity on this team for a deep playoff run. His value is immeasurable
