He was out of position a lot today and it was another subpar game handling the puck. Not anywhere near an A+ game he stole. And please shut up about "Goodyear". It's ignorant and it's a petty complaint. Nut up and take the loss.

Marty got us a point today. I've seen you complain about him a lot when it was unwarranted, so I will debate this with you no more.

And fine, but will you admit the save of the game was made by one of the Sens skaters today? If so then I guess Bishop wasn't good either.

What is this, the main board? He's not saying anything vulgar, and he ain't calling him that on the Ottawa board as far as I know. I guess it's okay for us to kill our own team and each other but heaven forbid someone calls the other goalie a blimp.

Thanks for the backup man, but I'm good!

I've seen so many people call Lundqvist ''Lundpads'' over the years. God forbid we poke at a non rivals goalie though.

Marty was helped by the posts yes. Though Bishop was helped by a post too, and one of his skaters! Bishop made that fine save on Patty today in the 3rd too!:shakehead If you say Marty wasn't good at all then you should say Bishop wasn't either. Just saying.

Post hits are irrelevant anyway. There's usually at least a post hit on each side in the game. If we dug up how many posts were hit in Marty's 120 shutouts that saved him (Or any goalies shutouts) I bet he got help from the posts in anywhere between 60-80 of those.

I never said Bishop had a good game, did I? And you're going crazy because I never post about Brodeur

It's still ignorant and it makes you look like a baby when you complain about how big a goalie's pad are, especially a goalie that actually needs pads that big because of his height. You can't complain about the main board if people here are going to incessantly make excuses like them.

How many of Brodeur's shutouts were saved by posts because he tried playing the puck like an incompetent boob?

The only post hit that will stick with me forever is Kovy's with less than 20 seconds in game 2 of the SCF. That is a significant post hit because there's a split in that series there.

The posts are hit in almost every game on each side. We hit at least one against the Isles while the game was scoreless. The Flyers hit a couple the game the other night, and so did we.

I'm pretty sure a post was not hit while he was misplaying the puck today. One was on the PP early in the game, and the other I remember him distinctly being in the cage when it happened. Now maybe he did misplay it on the PP. I don't remember.

Great job sidestepping everything there

Sidestepping what? I answered you about posts hits playing the puck like an incompetent boob. Did him playing like an incompetent boob cause a post hit today?

He wasn't seriously tested ridiculously today like that Rangers game. He made the saves he had to though so I don't see how you can say he didn't play well at all.

He played decently, especially for it being his first game. And especially considering how lethargic and sloppy his team played.

All in all, not bad for a first game, I'll be looking forward to seeing how he fits in with the team when they actually show up to a game.

Comments giving my eyeballs cancer

 Pretty much.

We are ridiculously hard on our own players. Slumps happen, shortened season be damned. Ups and downs happen.

Sure, a few OT losses are beefing up the points, but 9 ROW is still good for 5th in the league.
The boys will shake this off and everyone will be happy again.............. so long as there are no Swedes in the lineup other than Larsson and Hedberg :sarcasm:

 Whatever it takes to win. Take OTL over RL any time. Wins over both though! Nj will get into it.

I'm going to go ahead and call him Goodyear. Thanks

First of all, who **** in your cereal this morning? Marty was fine, he made several important stops to keep the team in it late in the game. The goal against wasn't his fault either, you don't give Alfie all that time, room, and space, he's going to make you pay.

Goodyear was pretty good on the other side too, his skaters bailed him out multiple times. Elias would have had a goal if not for a Sens player blocking the shot. I was impressed with Goodyear, but the Devils didn't have their best game in the shooting department (this was evident in the shootout). Still, Goodyear played fine and nobody is discrediting him.

And yes, I'm going to go ahead and call him Goodyear. And Lundpads is the New York Rangers goalie. Deal with it. :p:

Ugh I can't believe we missed the net twice, and Patty was going for the miss too but got the logo. Why did no one try 5 hole?

Our finishing really let us down, we had plenty of opportunities in the 1st alone to have made it a 2 or 3 goal game. Only getting the one, then not sustaining pressure at all in the 2nd, and not really in the third (it was better, but not by much). That is playing with fire. Ya if we squeezed a 1-0 win out would of been nice, but it should never come to that. OT was whatever, we had to spend almost 2 mins of it killing so it is what it is. Carter leaving didn't help since the lines got all puzzle pieced together, and we lost our energy line in CBGB, which might of helped wake up the rest of the team.

We just need to not play the Caps on Thursday as the last place team they are. We need to play them hard. Also start Fayne for gods sake. No reason for him to be sitting in the box.

Not that it matters a whole lot, but I still don't quite get how we ended up short handed in that situation or why Clarkie and Neil go tossed. Seemed a mess for both sides really.

Barch needs to sit Thursday too, get Matteau back in there and actually roll 4 lines for once. Nothing against Barch he does his job well (though for a goon to get two instigator penalties because he dropped his gloves to soon is stupid), but he doesn't bring anything either. I don't think we needed him today, and we don't need him against teams like Washington and Winnipeg. Put Matteau in there and lets try to squeeze some more offense out of that bottom 6, add some energy too.

Marty's current save percentage is 912, with an even strength save percentage of even higher. Average in the league is currently 909 which will undoubtedly rise by just a little bit. His save percentage didn't even get to 900 last year until after about 35-40 starts. Just saying.

Ok, just a heads up that you sound like a baby when you do

So you've never ripped on a player before? Maybe called Lundqvist ''Lundpads''? Or called Crosby ''Cindy''?

I remember you getting mad at me when I called Joe Sacco ''Joe Succo'' last year. Joe Sacco was an ass when he played too. I'm a ballbreaker, I am originally from Jersey after all.

Barch has done a fine job as the resident goon. He's an interchangeable part, and not needed for every game though. Which is why he's never played close to 82 games in a season before. Averages around 50. Nothing wrong with putting Matteau in on Thursday, and sitting Barch. It gives us a chance to possibly roll 4 lines that can score.
