Here is the Isles scouting report - they will probably have a stretch of solid play probably the 1st or 2nd period where they will out hustle and out work the Kings.

-Brian Strait will be on the ice for one if not many goals against. He will make a bone play to get called for a penalty. He is the Isles' version of Greene with less skill and ability.

-If the Isles go into the third with a lead they will play the hockey version of "prevent defense" which will prevent them from getting 2 points.

-If the Isles have a 3 goal advantage then the Kings are in the driver's seat as the team tends not to go for the kill and inevitably loses these leads.

Sooooo Mirror match? :(:help:

Important question - who is the girl in your avatar?

Chloe Moretz who happens to be a Kings/Isles fan while I am the reverse - Isles/Kings.

At least she got it right ;)

As it should be, this thread is more about Trollposo than the game.

The move to Brooklyn has a lot of facets to it. The first being the Islanders home territory was/is Long Island. While Brooklyn is geographically not too far away, once you get NY traffic involved it becomes cumbersome for many of these LI based fans to come out on a regular basis. There is mass transit which makes it a little easier but either way, what was once a 1/2 hour trip to the game is now a 1 1/2 hour one way excursion. So that is one issue.

Two the arena is not designed for a hockey rink. It is built for basketball. Originally the plan was for a dual sport venue but the NIMBY people in Brooklyn and an economic downturn changed that plan. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barclays_Center#Design

Plenty of obstructed view seats make it the worst arena to watch an NHL game despite Barclay's being an otherwise beautiful facility.

Plus the Mets making the World Series and the team is usually a weak draw in the beginning of the season also play into it.

I've been to three games - the home opener, the Flames and Devils games. I've sat in the lower bowl for all three games and it was fine but it is easy to see where watching the game from obstructed seats will have you end up staring at the jumbotron to watch some or all of the game. I do not plan on sitting in 200s if I can help it as those seats are steeply pitched and the view is awful.

I think if the Isles continue to become a contending team they will draw like the SC champion Devils did - selling out the final half of season and post season games and being 1/2-3/4 filled at other times.

Thanks for the info :yo:

I hope I can stay awake, haven't watched any hockey yet this season. Life is sort of returning to normal so I need to get back at it.

We need to show up from the drop of the puck. Otherwise we might find ourselves behind early.
The came out really fast vs San Jose the other day.

Brown, 52 shots, 1 goal
Carter, 46 shots, 7 goals
Doughty, 42 shots, 1 goal
Toffoli, 35 shots, 10 goals
Muzzin, 35 shots, 1 goal
Lewis, 35 shots, 2 goals
Gaborik, 35 shots, 1 goal

Both of the goals by Lewis were into an empty net. 5 of the top 7 guys in shots barely have a goal 15 games into the season.

Also, since the start of last year, Lewis has 178 shots on net, Kopitar has 161. Kopitar finished behind him last year, and currently behind him this year. That just never happened before last year, although it was close in 2013.

Kopitar has never gotten the easy scoring chances Lewis has had over the last few seasons. Kopi would have an extra 10 goals if he did.

I can never get her name right. I always end up just blurting out "Tia Poscana" :help:
