  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. The admin team will continue to work on existing issues, templates and upgrade all necessary available addons to minimize impact of this new version. Click Here for Updates
Luckily, Hlavaj and Cajkovic are still available. Our next year defence will be much better (Knazko, Mudrak, Golian, Nemec, Stacha, Turan). Furthermore, we might use promising players as Chromiak or Myklukha. Nothing being taken for granted but I believe them.

Incoming coaches omitting Nemec next year...

I remeber when Černák was given a shot at age 16 at juniors I believe. Sure, he made some mistakes, but his play still had plenty of positive impact, unlike this bunch where its just negatives all the way.

Hollenstein doesnt make this mistake in a close game. We were up 4 nothing so he thought he could get cute. Typical brain fart.

But he isn't the stereotypical half-crazy type of goalie character where you'd expect something like this once in a while. He might just waited too long and ran out of simple options.

Overall it's not so important for another reason too. The first game was not a game to shine. Little work, but when work then facing quality shots by a dangerous player, who keeps delivering. In the second game he was beaten once too often, before he had a chance to turn hot. But this game, a bit lucky at the start, and a few other good moments, and a second period, where he had a lot to do, but rarely high quality shots. And a 3rd with a lot of Boxplayaction. He's in the tournament now.

So it'd be logical if one of the other two talented and fresh goalies gets a go against Finland. And if one can steal the game, he might could give the coach something to think about.

They just cant ignore that kind of talent what he possess. You are dissapointed by tonight performance so you made those negative conclusions. Although, it cant go any worse and thus there is huuuge space for improvement. How they constructed the roster is not a biggest problem here. Chromiak or Nemec did not make a team rightly. And other small changes like Rabcan or Golian would not make any visible difference. Imho, Petrovicky should try to combinate formations and not to always stick with the exactly same lineup without any changes while everybody can see that it does not fit.

Man. Losing Gross blows...the injury definitely does explain some of the bad goals we gave up in the first two games. Weird defense combos and ice time distribution and and the issue also put players into situation they normally wouldn't have to face on that team. Take the 5th Swedish goal for example. Injury must have happened in game 1 or even before and Gross tried to play through it.

So this win without Gross is huge. The second goal they gave up was another head scratcher though...

...and btw, is Paterlini ever gonna pull his head out of his ass and start another goalie...or for how much longer do we have to watch the Hollenstein clown show while two excellent goalies sit on the bench and eat nachos in the press box? This is becoming comical...wtf.

I haven't seen highlights or anything but the score isn't the best.. I'm sorry Slovakia. If it's any consolation... there is minimal dropoff in talent whether you play 1st or 2nd in the other pool.

Thoughts on a few of these older Swiss players getting Pius Suter treatment, maybe a contract, maybe a later round pick in a D+1, D+2 year?

I had seen Verboon before and thought he was always an intriguing prospect. I feel like he has the making of a very good 3rd line energy forward. I first really noticed him when he was in the BCHL. He's someone I think we'll hear more of in his senior year when he's a college free agent.

Thanks for words, I think this team owes Czech and Slovak supporters who came to support an apology for this display
Tournaments not over
You're in the quarters (Czechs, Germans and Russians are still up in the air)
Anything can happen in one game
This is a weaker age group, next one is better
Cajkovic looks great
The crowd will help in your quarter

The entire roster last year consisted of 99 born forwards, that says something about how weak this 00 group is. Only positives here are that some of their 01 and 02 players are among the better players on this team, and they will come back better next year.
