What 2 forwards? I just watched the play again. Stanley and Demelo were both covering Haula coming out from the corner from a board battle (with Demelo) while Lazar beats Stanley to the puck on his side of the ice.

Demelo wasn't covering anyone - and I'll take your word on Stan only dealing with one guy but there were other players who were options on that play and Demelo took none of them.
Stan covering for the shot and the pass at that point - tough spot to defend.
