Post-Game Talk: GAME 15 - Marchand wins it in OT - BRUINS 4 Calgary 3 F/OT

I thought that was a super weak call on Marchand. Pretty run of the mill pushing scrum with no real heat or escalation. Definitely felt that was more game management by the refs than an actual penalty that would get called 10/10 times.

Win is a win, but I actually think they played an overall good game.
They did play a pretty solid game except the 3rd period.
After the early PP goal by Calgary to start the 3rd they went into a prevent style game, which almost cost them
..when will Monty learn from his stupid mistakes??

I've ALWAYS hated that prevent defense shit (especially in hockey) and it doesn't usually work

..some teams like Florida are good at it...but this B's team is not

The Center Ice feed went to the off-air schedule screen for the first 3 minutes of OT, but came back for the final two.

Marchand slowly gets closer to his usual form with each game. Right now only his shot is still not quite there. But it's a testament to his skill and determination that he's still scoring goals; deflections, off goalie pads, backhand rebounds, etc.

The team will be a work in progress for a while; but tonight was another step in the right direction and was entertaining.

I had some company tonight so I couldnt really pay attention for the first two periods but man I am so happy Marchand got the GWG.

That’s up there with best game I’ve seen Hampus Lindholm play

I like Brad & Elias - Monty leave them together

Poitras played well - he’s definitely got a little more giddy up
Potrias scares me with how exposed he leaves himself for getting lit up, he has skill for sure but man he puts himself in vulnerable positions far to often.

While I agree, I think they're going to have to learn.

A typical win this year will probably be 3-2 or 2-1. So they'll need to learn to collapse and try and close out games.

I think it's just how they'll have to make it work with being bigger and having less scoring. Would've liked to see how they did if McAvoy didn't get caught up ice in the 3rd period with 1 goal lead..

Fun game to be at.

To much talent to be 7-7-1 but they’ve played some garbage games

No way no how 88 and 63 get this amount of bad penalties under Claude or Cassidy

So maybe it looks like the tandems that might work are:

Pasta-Zacha-X
Marchand-Lindholm-X

Tempted to put Poitras with Marchand and Lindholm, but that's a small line. Maybe Brazeau is best for now. Big body to crash the net.

I like Koepke's game. He has good fundamental instincts around the net. I really think he has the potential to be more than a fourth-liner.

Happy they didn’t lose, but dislike that this had to go to overtime.

In the same way I don’t consider a loss in 3-on-3 OT an actual loss, I don’t consider a dub in OT a real dub. It’s a Tie with benefits.

15 games and only four wins in regulation.
In some ways I thought this was their best game of the year offensively, then the wheels fell off when Calgary came back to tie it . Pasta is just about to heat up ( sure hope so ) . Bruins will be okay .

Back in university I hit the lottery at a bar one night and brought home a 9.5 when I should’ve been shooting in the 6 range.

My entire thought process while performing my civic duty was that the hell is wrong with this person and why are they here.

I had the same thought tonight when that putz in stripes called that penalty on Marchand.

Marchand buzzing all night, earned the winner

Not worried about them coughing up the lead. Marchand penalty was garbage call and calgary's 3rd goal off a suspect play too.

Don't care about the penalties, I love Zadorov
I want to like him but he can be glacial in his own zone . He takes a few strides to get going . I think he needs to do a lot of skating to get his conditioning up . Lots of laps in practice.

Bang on every point

I don’t get how Koepke developed an offensive touch. I don’t think he produced at a high level at any level he has played. To the eye he seems to have some offence to give. He makes good plays when under pressure and can score. Can he score 20?

He has his noted downsides I can't argue that. Understand if people don't think he's worth it.

But he has a presence I think they need and I like having him. He fills a role. Once the forwards start producing the way they are capable of (a much much bigger issue for this team), his role will be more valuable and his downside less of an issue. Make the playoffs and he'll shine.
