Dubinsky, Comeau, MacKenzie and Murray are the only ones that have been consistently reliable this season thus far.
Gaborik is being who he always was - gotta feed him the puck and have him make pretty plays. He's not a banger.

J4L, if you want to know who are best players are SUPPOSED to be, just look at the top of the salary chart. That's where you'll find our biggest under performers.

And for the record, I'm not one bit worried about Bobrovsky. He was quite good tonight. He's got a good goalie coach, a level head and a strong work ethic. He'll be fine.

Good post, totally agree

Couldn't agree more. Never thought Murray would instantly become our best defenseman, but here we stand.

No one can convince me that Erixon shouldn't have made this team, not after tonight. Between Johnson, Wisniewski, and Tyutin, i need 4 ibuprofen and a tall glass of water.

Don't forget Nikitin, he's been awful too. And Savard has gone back to being mediocre. I would absolutely bring Erixon up and sit one of the vet defensemen, Prout doesn't deserve to sit over Wiz and Tyutin

I think I've kept quiet long enough. I didn't want to make anybody feel bad but I know exactly why our guys are under-performing on the ice. We've been under-performing our GDT's. There I've said it.

I'm not sure I've seen any kind of "edition" GDT this entire season. It's all just line combinations and maybe a picture of the arena. No mspaint graphics, no humor, no weird references, no youtube links to obscure songs. We need to step it up. You KNOW the guys are reading these GDT's before the game. They see the lack of enthusiasm and they think to themselves: "Why bother? If the CBJ section on HFBoards can't even put together an attempt at a humorous or really well-designed GDT, what am I even doing here?"

It's time to carry the night and ignite the flag with some hardcore posting [but not posting of anything that is hardcore] so we can join the cannon and fire the battle so that you gotta see it starts now.

Wasn't there some salt sprinkling and holy water in the zambonis the year we made the playoffs? Maybe we should bring in an exorsist to exorcise the demons until our house us clear.

That won't work. All of the ghosts that haunt this team are former prisoners who had nothing but time on their hands to stay in shape. No amount of exercising will be too much for them! :sarcasm:

Section 203
From Arace:

"After the game, Jackets GM Jarmo Kekalainen was asked if the time was drawing near when he might think of shaking up the team in some manner. “We’re always looking to improve whether we’re in winning streaks or losing streaks,” he said. “It doesn’t change that. We’re evaluating and analyzing every day. We’re certainly not pleased with what we see now, that’s for sure.'"

I logged in just to say that this team ****ing blows. At least Jarmo will be making the top 5 pick instead of Howson, so that's a bit of relief.

From where I sit, the two best and most consistent skaters this year have been Murray and Johansen.

What's the common thread between them?;)

Every hockey commentator and scribe says "your best players have to be your best players." Our best players are not our best players so far. Simple as that. The time for them to step up, lead and deliver is well overdue.
Up until tonight I defended Wiz. I made excuses. But I'm done. I want him gone. I at least want him to sit.
Agree with you all.

I was at the game, 11k seems like a pretty on point number. The lower bowl was very spotty especially in certain spots where the NYR attacked twice, but the upper bowl (where I was) was pretty packed.

Hmm...

Can't wait for another great quote from Dubinsky which he won't back up himself

They both played in the WHL and are highly touted by Sore Loser?

Yes Wiz is a problem. But he doesn't score on his own goal or repeatedly fail to score as he was (not) hired to do.

Giving the C to ______ is a ridiculous answer. Even horrible teams have captains.

Effort is a mind game. This team lacks confidence. Say what you will, but a player like Nash could put the team on his shoulders. We got no forwards like that, ...yet. Gabby and Anisimov are not that type of player. Richards can't give it to them. (Vinnie?). Bob did it last spring.

Horton is that type of player.
He is the game changer.

Horton is at least six weeks out... he will help the team without question but the season could be out of reach by then and I doubt one player on offense can fix a dysfunctional defense.. A four game and five game losing streak in the first 15 games is ridiculous, especially after a 19-5-2 run last season…

I still say no on both. Their age and lack of speed would have been a detriment. Now from a leadership standpoint, I'm open to suggestion.

The only mistake in not bringing back Vinny or Aucoin is that they didn't hire Aucoin as a D coach of any sort.

Who runs this D now? They are terrible with the exact same players as last season. The Blackhawks were at least smart enough to hire Aucoin to coach their young D.

It's an interesting idea, but I don't think we have the tools to field a team consisting entirely of dudes named Ryan.

Comeau? Lee, he's been horrific at times. There were a small handful of games where he's been, maybe 3 or 4, where he's been aggressive. But this isn't Comeau that we had at the end of last season.

#TeamTradeForBobbyRyan again???

Are there any goalies named Ryan out there? I was thinking about attempting to put together a team of all Ryans but without a goaltender it would all fall apart.

EDIT: duh, Ryan Miller.
