Lines back in the blender...

Can't see how playing so many players at unfamiliar positions will help.

The Quiet Corner

I'm afraid this is all Monty knows how to do, much like the only thing Brian Sutter knew how to do was demand more effort from his players.

Breaking up Kastelic-Beecher-Koepke and Zacha-Coyle-Brazeau is just plain stupid because those lines work very well together. It is the first 2 lines that can't seem to mesh.

Yeah it'll bother him, but no playoff $$$ and a chance at his name on another Cup would bother him way more IMO. He hasn't got many years left on this side of the grass and undoubtedly wants another chance.
Evil rich old people like him live forever these days.

Can't disagree with any of those things.

But will the Bruins really pay Monty to go away? Won't that crush Mr. Burns to his core?
Then there's 5 on 5 Time of Possession which is a head scratcher
This year we rank 22nd, yet last year 24th.
A bit better possession, but less scoring....hmmmm.

These stats are screwing with my head.

I'm surprised at the outrage this week.

I didn't think the Toronto game was terrible. The Bruins were solid defensively, the game was pretty even 5on5. We lost the special teams battle but really I think it came down to Stolarz being much better than Swayman. Stolarz made some great saves against our PP, and Swayman didn't.

I thought the effort was there. I mean, compared to earlier in the season, their effort the last 3 games has been significantly better.

It looked better by comparison only. The effort was better, but the same stupid shit by the same folks is still a thing. Bad penalties, silly turnovers, failed clearances, poor transition game, a dysfunctional powerplay, headless chicken penalty killing and so forth. The Leafs are in a rough patch, too, so I don't know how much that game tells us except that the Bruins are still struggling to get it done against teams that are a cut above the Sharks of the league.

Last year, the Bruins had the 4th best shooting percent. This year, the Bruins are 27th.

It's reasonable to expect that number to improve to the league average.
