Puke inducing effort tonight. B's playing like they're just going thru the motions. Pasta, McAvoy et al simply uninspired.
Monty making no changes to the PP and now the PK sucks.
Sweeney STILL, not worried.
LOL
Well I guess I'm glad they blacked out the game in my area.

I don’t think Pasta is playing lazy. I think he’s playing frustrated. And it’s affecting his decision-making.

I know we lean on him for offense. But we need to find ways to score elsewhere on the roster.
How he is playing undisciplined as well. That high stick off the face off was just silly. Then his comments of "The game was closer than the score shows" was bad.

Looking at this years iteration of the Bruins it can't be the same system they used last year. They look like one of those old trapping teams at the bottom of the standings with no scoring trying to eek out a win. Hard to watch this group. They all seem to be handling the puck like it's a hot potato and no player wants to be the sacrificial goat that cost them a ride on the bench. When Monty benches Pasta one of the top forwards in the league it's one of two issues. Either he is sending a message to the whole team to bear down and start producing or he is trying to deflect his own short comings. Maybe there are internal issues in the room. The powers that be looking down from their cushy box above need to take some responsibility for the way the team is playing. The Leafs suck and beat them handily last night. Maybe time to change a couple of the old coots and bring in a new perspective. Take what I say with a grain of salt. Just an opinion of another old coot.

All I know is that I'm done with this coaching "team."
Don't know if Sacco can do better but I'm ready and
willing to find out, if that is the route they go.
The other thing is that there needs to be some common
sense in regards to the coaching whether defense, PP, PK
whatever aspect, they're all failing IMO.
The whole "system" that they are playing is the weirdest that I've
seen since the malaise of the Dave Lewis era.
I've see enough of that for a lifetime.

Meh....I'm still going to watch moving forward even though the on ice product is sub standard ....it's been a soap opera type season since Swayman and training camp....tune into As The Bruins Turns (to mediocrity) ...there's lots of drama and bad acting (playing)...a must watch

We are definitely not a puck possession team.
Same old plays all the time, shoot the puck in and chase it, hope for a turnover.
It is not working.
This only works when you have faster forwards that the other teams dee and cause turnovers.

Our PP is so predictable, too easy for other teams to defend.
We need to wipe the slate clean and start over.
We are a -12 goal differential, worst in the league.

This is a mediocre team to be blunt. The new pieces made them bigger but weight and height does not translate into skill and goal scoring. Coaching staff will likely bear the consequences, not sure it will make a difference. The chemistry is not emerging. I still think they botched the preseason( not putting in the regulars for the last few games). Sometimes they play as if they have never seen other guys on their team before:help:. Going to be a long season( even if they miss the playoffs)
E. Lindholm sat out the last preseason game, after missing almost the whole camp.

TORONTO — Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are set to take over Scotiabank Arena Wednesday for their second show this week.

On Tuesday night, however, it was the Maple Leafs who played the boss man’s role at the big building on Bay Street.

Toronto scored three power-play goals and Anthony Stolarz was stellar in the net, stopping 29 shots to secure the 4-0 shutout.

The loss snapped Boston’s two-game winning streak, both shutout victories, and dropped the team under .500 at 6-7-1. It also halted the Bruins’ run of eight straight regular-season victories over Toronto.

The Bruins were called for seven minor penalties and Morgan Rielly really made them hurt. The Maple Leafs defenseman scored the first goal and set up the other two with the man advantage.

Boston had six power plays, but were unable to crack Stolarz, who collected his ninth career shutout.

“I mean honestly it was a tough loss, but I feel like we’ve been right there for the most part of the game and the special teams obviously hurt us, and we didn’t do the job on the power play, and they did,” said David Pastrnak, who was called for a high-sticking minor but also drew three penalties.

A game after Pastrnak was benched for the third period the All-Star winger led all forwards with 22:09 of ice time.

“The special teams were huge tonight,” first-year Leafs coach Craig Berube said. “The PK was great. The goalie was great.”

It didn’t take long for the renewal of hostilities between these heated Original Six rivals.

When Max Domi was asked if there would be a carryover of emotions from last season’s playoff series, the irascible Maple Leaf quipped pregame, “how about the last 100 years?”

Domi, of course, was in the thick of it from the opening drop. He went high with an elbow to Brad Marchand (no call) at center ice and the captain responded by leveling John Tavares on his way to the bench, leading to the Bruins’ first scoring chance.

The puck that Tavares couldn’t get to ended up with Justin Brazeau and the beefy Bruin clanged a wrister off Stolarz’s near post.

Elias Lindholm's signing looks closer to Backes signing than a 1st line center.
Good old moron Sweeney pulled his usual trick by signing overvalued crap with NMC and NTC for 7 years.
I've hoped we could get at least a couple of productive seasons out of Lindholm but he could be a buyout candidate/cap dump fairly soon, lol
He was supposed to be the answer to the power play, and he cannot be taken off, because that would just embarrass Sweeney more than he already should be.

Love it!

I found out over the weekend that one of my neighbors, who is a 5 AM regular with his wife at the gym suffered a serious medical episode a couple of months back.

I was wondering why I had not seen them at the gym.

It was like a punch in the gut, and a reminder of how fragile this thing called life really is.
I’ve got my marathon coming up in a few days, and I’m just grateful for the opportunity to go out there and compete.

At the end of the day, sports ante entertainment. I watched most of the game last night, and went to bed with about seven minutes left in the third period.

They simply might not be very good this year.

As Lou Gorman famously once said, “the sun set, the sun will rise, and I will have lunch. “
My brother had a friend drop dead a couple months ago at 52. Was the 4th sub 55 softball parent that passed in the past two years. I lost 45 lbs, then gained about 15 back then lost 5 then gained about 12 with the Mets run and total laziness w food intake. I just feel so much better when do this,. 4am sounds terrible, but it's not, empty nesters at home with two great pups and it's me time.

I will still watch when I can and do DVR but certainly not watching a 4-0 shut out..like you said sports in not what it once was.

If you subtract EN goals and goals scored in OT 3 on 3, this team has just 20 goals scored in its past 12 games. (1.67 per game)

29% of their offensive output for the season came in the first 2 games. And one of those was against a Habs team currently 31st in GAA averaging 4.00 goals against per game.

Their 2nd biggest offensive game this season was a 5 spot posted on Colorado, currently 32nd in GAA in the league at 4.15 goals a game. Those 3 games contain a staggering 44% of the Bruins offensive output thus far.

I figured that after such an awful loss this thread would be 20 pages by now.

I'm on the fire the entire coaching staff train and that includes Jay Leach. He was supposed to help the defense (already top notch) but so far this season the defense has regressed badly. There was a reason Seattle didn't try to keep him.

The PP has been an issue for years with no relief in sight. IDK who is in charge, nobody seems to want to own it but whoever it is has to go.

I'd love to see Neely and Sweeney get the axe too but I'm afraid they'll be replaced by another set of insiders. Charlie Jacobs has clearly forgotten what happened in 2006.

Finally is there any word on Andrew Peeke??

The Bruins do have their first rounder for 2025?
For the time being, hopefully DS does not try to patch up this team as it is right now. Way too many pieces needed and who would take on most of our players in a trade.

Not going to be a fun run this season.
