Feels like we were lied to after what we saw the last two games. Dysfunctional team when you look at the PP, PK and overall 5 on 5 offense. Man o man this is tough to watch
I wouldn’t say they were lied to. They only scored 5 goals in those two games. 1 was in an empty net.

They also played two teams that probably won’t qualify for the playoffs.

The happy genius of my household
As a big Pastrnak fan. I’m so disappointed in his lack of effort. It’s laziness, plain and simple.
I don’t think Pasta is playing lazy. I think he’s playing frustrated. And it’s affecting his decision-making.

I know we lean on him for offense. But we need to find ways to score elsewhere on the roster.

I know he’s a pro athlete, but human nature is tough to beat. He’s young and very wealthy. The drive that got him the big contract has got to be tough to maintain at this time. I’m not making excuses for him, but I think this type of behavior is very common in the big 4 sports now.

29 "hits".
No fights, so little (none) response to the charging hit that injures Peeke.

No scrums, no statements of pride.

Goalie pulled over 4 minutes remaining.

Ends game with Poitras/Johnson/Carlo on the ice instead of heavier players to run around and hit.

Yep. Back to the bandwagon. Fire Montgomery.

Sway played the puck when he should have froze it. PK played like it's last name was Subban. PP played like it was tripped a breaker.. Zadorov played like he was loaded to the Gill's, Todd and Hal. Pasta played like he's gluten free.

Only thing the Bruins were better at was taking penalties. This team is cringe worthy this year. Can't see it getting much better... Middle of the pack until some changes are made.
Maybe there still evaluating.
Maybe Geekie will come back next game... Bland and boring brand of hockey. Thought they would be at least, the hammer but they just keep getting nailed

Here is a way to spotlight some of the Bruins’ current problems: The Zacha-Coyle-Brazeau line did a really good job tiling the ice in the Bruins’ favor. 10-0 in shot attempts, 5-0 in shots on target, but couldn’t create a single high danger chance and barely moved the needle on xGF. All that possession and zone dominance, did nothing with it. This roster is so offensively limited.

On the defensive side, some bad lapses again. Get a semi-pass 5v5 for spending 2 periods a man down, but some of the PK play was awful. Zero pressure put on the Leafs who were able to get pucks and bodies to the net at will.

Other than that, just some terrible puck management and decision-making. Bad habits creeping back in. PP putrid. 2nd period another self-inflicted wound of sloppiness and indiscipline. There were stretches where their 5v5 play was actually ok, but they could never sustain it for long or actually create much offensively.

So one step forward, at least one step back. This group remains very flawed and sketchy. The pressure goes right back on the coaches. The players have to own their errors and weakness, but I don’t think the guys behind the bench are helping. Plenty of blame to go around.

To end on a slight positive, I thought Johnson looked ok given he was playing for the first time since spring. Give him a decent opportunity, see how it goes.
