I am not entirely blaming refereeing. It's embarrassing to the sport when obvious calls like that are blown and it has a big impact on the game though. If the call is made at 4-1 with 2 minutes left, this one is over.

This is true. After the calls the U.S. got, it should have definitely been a penalty.
