I'm not obsessed with any of these players but it's obvious the team is really hurting at center ice and Monahan resurrected his NHL career here and was very effective when healthy, that's all I am saying here.

Agreed, we could definitely use a Monahan to help, as we have a huge hole on that 2nd line right now, but it still doesn't mean the trade was the wrong move, it wasn't, we're still better off with Hage in the long run.

We are always poor at center since the last 20-30 years and the recent years is no exception. Monahan was and still is a fairly good center. For sure we are missing him this year and we didn't suspect he would be that good this year, we were thinking maybe he would be on his decline.
