Thanks Dorion for passing on Peterka to draft Jarventie. (Note I do think the Greig pick was the right one, but the Jarventie pick was dumb).

Imagine:

Tkachuk-Stützle-Peterka
Giroux-Norris-Batherson
Greig-Pinto-Perron
Gregor-Ostapchuk-Amadio

Gaudette and Cousins being extras.
I even wanted to draft Peterka where Greig went. Didn't know anything about Greig at the time, and even though he has panned out, it would have obviously been the right move also in hindsight.

Letting go of my expectations for the team and simply enjoying Sens hockey has been the best decision I've made. We're fortunate to still have a team in Ottawa; I'm certain hockey enthusiasts in Quebec City would love to have their own team. And tonight was a very solid win on the road.

The wheels were about to come off but they have managed to survived another week.

Just need to see how many more weeks can this Team go on before the season is as good as done and we are forced to discuss the off-season moves

I'm worried about Gaudette. He hasn't scored in 3 games. We need him to step up, he wasn't signed here to be a fourth liner..
I know it’s sarcasm, but still impressed with him 2 posts in the last two games and then the bruins game he had a sweet shot that swayman made a good save on, all while playing a limited role. Really wanna see this guy play with a Stutzle, Giroux or Batherson

I watched the game with my father. He lives north of Toronto, was a Habs fan, is 80 years old, doesn't watch many games and if he does it's whatever is on because he just wants to see a game. He checks the sports section to have an idea what is going on. If there is a Sens game on when I visit, we watch it.
All that being said.... here are things he thought during the game.

- Is that the german kid? He's good. How old is he? Really? He hasn't even started playing yet. Wait a couple years...(sips his whiskey)
- I like Brady. He looks in position more. Other games we watched he looked like a big goofy dog running all over the place. (Steals a smoke)
- Passing is nice but sometimes you have to shoot the puck.
- Have to get the puck out. Who keeps giving it to Boston?
- I hate Boston.
- Save % doesn't matter. Stopping the puck at the right time does.(finishes his whiskey)

Yeah it sucks but frankly it's probably not even Top-20 in Dorion's worst moves list

Also, as useful as Ostapchuk will eventually be, leave him have an extra developmental year in the AHL and have Gaudette in the lineup

Seriously. It's hilarious. This place gets a little too caught up with the wins and losses when assessing the team's performance. It was a fantastic effort, win or loss. Fortunately it was a win.

UH, it's the 8th season, of course this team needs RESULTS yesterday, not just "small victories despite the loss". We are way overdue for better results.

Wow, 6 losses in a row for the Habs. One or two more and they might just kick MSL out of Montreal lol.

They need to start winning because you don't want them to get another top pick and a new coach who could maybe instill better 2-way play. They need to stay in the hole they're digging as long as possible, like we did (but of course Gorton won't let that happen)

Omg, I just watched the extended highlights of the game, and they basically skipped the entire third period, showed the opening faceoff which was Boston wins the draw then fires it from their own Dzone and it goes of the glass and out in our end (9 secs of play), the next clip is Chabot behind our net waiting out the clock to put it into OT

Like, maybe show one or two of the Sens 10 recorded scoring chances that period?

Summarizing the highlights of the Senators game would take time away from doing it right for the Leafs! Standard practice from the Toronto sports networks.

Huge game basically a must win and Ullmark and Brady showed up. Bodes well.

I don't think we have to worry about Boston stealing a playoff spot from us.

So who does that leave as the strongest competition.

Islanders?
Sabres?
Detroit?

This might actually be the year.

The highlights are so ridiculous sometimes (plus wildly inconsistent). Like that's the third period but they showed every single shot on goal in the first

Hamonic discussion again? Zub had the biggest woofer last night. Uncharacteristic play on his part on that goal. Still getting up to game speed. Jensen was all over the place and I was impressed with his effort. Amadio had a nice game and good to see him pot one. That was quite the breakdown in OT, thank f*** that turned out okay with the big save by Ullmark or that play would have been talked about until Tuesday.

The Tkachuk Norris Greig line at 5v5 all 1,2,3 in CF% , SF%, and SCF%
Greig 78.95 CF% 85.71 SF% 69.23 SCF%
Norris 70.83 CF% 84.62 SF% 69.23 SCF%
Brady 67.86 CF% 81.25 SF% 69.23 SCF%

I'd say that at least for the 1 game they were together they were very good

Brady led the way in hits and shots; Brady's offensive game was probably near the best game for him this season
