Solid to an extent; "finishing" (i.e., scoring percentage of shots taken) needs to improve. Shooting Practice required.

I figure the team needs to get 10 points for every 8 games played (e.g., 5 Wins and 3 Losses). That would definitely put the team in the playoffs (i.e., 100 points).

Having .500 +1 or 2 points is not going to do it.

that would definitely get us in.

but also just being a little better than the crappy teams would get us in.

Norris and Brady made no effort to rush back, leaving Jake alone on 1 vs 2, they just look at each other to say "you, take the man", it was comical bad.
Thanks Ullmark for the win.
Yep explained why, it’s common in 3 on 3, multiple odd man rushes, go one way , then the other way after a save.

Norris actually skated hard then got confused as to who his man was as Tkachuk and Sandy pointed at different people, effort was there just not the decision making. I think Tkachuk thought he had the trailer and Sandy and Norris had the rush, in which case Tkachuk skating harder isn't going to help him cover who he considers his man, so again, not an effort thing.

Some players makes the effort some don't, i'm thinking in the best teams they do. And if we are lucky enough to go in the PO, i hope Brady will make more effort to help the D, because Norris do most of the time but Brady not really and i'm not liking it for someone who is the captain of the team.

Maybe, maybe not, I'm thinking for Brady it's an effort thing as it's recurrent with him, in this aspect Tim progressed this year, same can be said for Drake, not for Brady but yes I may be wrong, i really hope so.

When Jake poined to the other guy, Norris wasn't even looking at him he was looking for the guy behind thinking Brady was rushing to take the man on the other side of the glass. 0 awareness.
Yeah it was Norris. Like they’re clearly communicating with one another and both are f***ing like indecisive it was terrible to watch when it happened

With several teams knotted up with a .500 record in our division, we are going to have to string some wins together to rise above them and get a little separation.

The team is going to be inconsistent this year. They're just learning how to win. The question is will they string together more losing streaks or winning streaks?

Whatever happens I hope its march by the time we know for certain that they are failing lol

No offence but that’s horseshit. So I’d be in the “you’re wrong camp”.

Norris rushed back. Then he started talking with Sanderson lol and seemingly got confused

If I block someone they can still see my posts I just can't see theirs
I didn’t block you I don’t block blocking should be illegal.

Who cares? This is the 3rd straight year of "we should have a better record right now"...

"solid" game? So what? There's a lot of "solid" games this year that haven't resulted in at least a point, it's completely meaningless. I'm not ready to assess this team until closer to the 24-25 games mark but we are a .500 team regardless of what the underlying stats say. And the 2 previous years we've been a non-playoff team despite what the underlying stats or vibes say. I'm not rooting for vibes anymore, I'm rooting for a team that gets real results, not just moral victories.
Do you want garbage wins that get exposed in the playoffs or do you want solid play that trends in the right direction with the reasonable expectation that they will be our ticket to the playoffs?

The Vegas game is a great example. That was a heartbreaking loss but we outplayed one of the best teams in the league in the hardest barn in the league to play in. There was a moral victory there that gives me confidence it can beat good teams in tough playoff scenarios. That showed me a lot more than, say, the LA game which was a garbage win that only exposed how much work we have to do.

I know you'll say that if we don't win we won't make the playoffs and yeah, thats obvious but you said it yourself that the 25 game mark is when we know what this team is made of. Until then I want to see good signs that we can build from assuming we scrape together an ok record in the time being. Garbage teams get exposed in the long run regardless of their record, teams that play the right way are left standing at the end.
