So where exactly was Tanev going to hit him before Pasta turned? Tanev was already in motion to hit a guy with his back to him.
It looked like Pastrnak had his side exposed as he was heading in the direction of the blue line. Imo Tanev thinking pass to the point in going to hit him hard on his side. Pastrnak spins at the last second. Tanev is a dink but that’s really tough to stop there with that quick spin. Just my 2 cents

Eh. So-so period. Few good shifts, some sloppy puck management. Horrendous PPs. Soft response to Leafs running around a bit. General play was about 50-50. Not terrible, but a lot of room for improvement. Toronto looks very beatable, but both teams can elevate. Hopefully it's us.

Game play itself was not good for either team, even enough. That fearsome lack of pride and toughness appearing again is the concerning part.

Im not sure monty is telling them to be passive. Players have to take matters in their own hands
Then I think they all fear having to answer to Reaves. If it’s not Monty that’s the only thing I can think of. Backing down from Max Domi??! It’s not Tie.
