Green needs to bag skate this team every time they lose a game. f*** um... treat them like the old Yzerman Detroit Red-Wings when they lost. Beat the f*** out of them until they wake up,
Agree, don’t care if it’s some theatrical movie at this point. Bag skate them on home ice for the fans to see. Bag skate them at practice after road losses. Team is garbage and should be embarrassed. What a disgrace of a team who will never win anything. Trade Brady to start and go from there. What a bunch of losers, minus a handful who give a crap.

Keith was in the stands. Probably telling Brady to hold off on the trade request until July so he can pick his own destination.
Good luck to whoever gets him. Just like his old man an incomplete player who can’t play defence to save his life. Maybe he gets lucky and can be a passenger on a winning team

If they go 0-2 against Boston and Toronto....might as well just call the season. This team is allergic to loser points too. I want core changes.
I really think that's an off-season move, Green and company + Staois need more time to instill work ethic and confidence in this group.

Playing a bad team = Sens loss. Not tuning in to save myself the disappointment.
Not gonna say I told you so, but...

This has been the way forever in Ottawa. They play decent against the top teams and get the win like 50% of the time, but they never come ready for bottom feeders and lose 75% of those games. The main reason they can't get back to playoffs is they bleed too many points to bad teams.

It was bad. We can make all the excuses we like, but this is exactly what our team did last season. Late period goals against, early period goals against. A lack of attention to detail, a lack of playing hard all the way through the game. Tonight was a typical give-it-away early Ottawa Senators game. If Green can't beat this out of them, then it's time to start talking trades and coach firing again.
Tonight was a lack of finish in key times. They lack talent to make teams pay. We could have gone into the third 3-0. But these guys stink

Yeah let’s lean on all of Green and Staois history of turning around NHL teams. Wait, they haven’t ever accomplished anything. They are both decent at their jobs, not their fault this team is below average. But good luck trying to do what every other team is trying. The roster is not built to win anything but the wild card trophy as our version of the cup, however unlikely that is if we have zero injuries and everyone is hot at the same time

Amadio will take us to the next step. Once we are all healthy

I'd rather trade someone like Batherson, who will get a better return than his contract is worth. Tkachuk is a playoff player.

Tell me where we lack talent? Our team is every bit as talented as Florida. It's the brand of hockey this team learned from DJ Smith for too f***ing long. They need to get past that. They also need to learn to play with intensity all game long, every game. Colorado and many other teams get beaten like this on certain games. But the difference is they are more consistent at winning and creating winning streaks. This team doesn't have that consistency. It has nothing to do with talent. There is plenty of talent here.

They NEVER finish when it can result in a good record. They’ll put up all the numbers in the world until they reach .500. Then they’ll have a game where they can pull away in the standings, and what do they do? They have 5-6 odd-man rushes and don’t even get a shot on net just like tonight. What the f*** is stopping them?

So we’ve been told lol.

You think stutzle and Brady are as good as barkov and Matthew?
You think Norris is better than lundell?

Our stars aren’t good enough. How many times do we run into a “hot goalie”. Yeah we have no shooters. And we don’t have the talent to ping the puck around 5v5 to get goalies and defences moving. Absolutely a talent issue.

It’s not like the islanders played any better than us.

What brand is that. This team under green would crush any DJ smith coached sens. Green is coaching just fine. Kids just ain’t good. Defensively we really weren’t that bad. We had a bad stretch in the first. Islanders had a bad stretch in the third.

Based on what? He’s never been to the playoffs. If he did, his defensive game would be taken advantage of by other teams top lines. Guy is not good enough to be a captain of a winning team, unless the support cast is exceptional. A B team captain leading a B team offense and a C team defence. Was hoping we had an A team goalie but no signs of any piece being anything better than average or worse.

Stü is not as defensively responsible as Barkov and he also isn't as big as Barkov. He's definitely more offensively talented than Barkov. Brady is better than Matthew. The difference is, Matthew has been on some playoff teams and knows how to play playoff hockey. Matthew also has a penchant for disappearing in the playoffs at times.

Are you seriously suggesting Lundell is better than Norris? Norris has been injured for nearly two full seasons. He's been decent, but snake bitten lately. He's actually one of the better players on the ice lately. Unless he's scoring though, people here hate him.

Based on everything he does, every night. The only thing I don't like about Brady is his habit of leaving the D zone too early. Otherwise he plays like any team would want. Hard on the forecheck, hard in front of the net. Crashing, banging and being strong on the puck. However, like every other player on this team, he needs to learn that offense comes from a good defense. He like others need to hound the puck in every zone. This isn't a one player mentality here. They all need to be better.

How much longer does Brady need? Another 7 years to learn the basics? He is absolutely disgusting in his own end. There are AHL players I’d rather have on ice to protect a 1 goal lead. Sure he puts up points and hits but he can’t be trusted on 2/3 the rink.

Not alleviating the rest of the team. Norris and others have been awful. Lots of captains have won cups or shown they can do it in the time Brady has. Would rather trade him for a top defendant and fill the scoring by committee. Not that it makes a difference, the team is not winning anything in the next 5 years regardless of moves

Look, Barkov took similar criticism. Look when he was drafted and when he won a cup. 11-years in the league before he finally had a cup. Brady is not always terrible in his own end, but he does have bad habits. We know there are issues with this team, but I am not blowing it up yet. I'm expecting the coach to beat them into submission. Maybe when Tkachuk blows the zone or make a D-zone mistake he should sit. This is what I would do as a coach.

Look, I'm not suggesting this roster should be ran back next year. But this season was always going to be about assessing where the team was at and who would stay, who would go. Staios is still handcuffed by a litany of Dorion's blunders - not least of which is the loss of a 1st round pick this year or next. So any moves are going to likely be of the player-in-player-out variety. Truth is, there aren't many beyond Stutzle, Tkachuk, Sanderson, Pinto that would fetch much of anything right now. So the best course is to have patience and hope that some players improve their value ahead of the off season - then maybe we see some moves. Personally, I'd like to see some guys spend a night in the press box and be embarrassed by it - Norris, Greig, Amadio come to mind immediately, I'd let Tkachuk sit for a period next time he tried a stupid trick shot, and Cousins/Gregor...not sure one shouldn't be waived rfn to make room for Ostapchuk to stay full-time.

Or maybe Perron and Pinto come back and everything is good again!

I've been reading a lot about this idea on here recently so I decided I'd look into it, and it turns out the Senators are actually extremely bad against the good teams.

In the 22/23 and 23/24 seasons combined, the Sens were 30-46-7 against playoff teams. The same period against non-playoff teams? 46-30-5.

So the problem is actually the opposite of what many people are suggesting - they are just not competitive against good teams. Intuitively, this makes much more sense.

At least Barkov made the playoffs in his 3rd year. We’re in Brady’s 7th season and dreaming about finishing November with a .500 record.

Loses to MTL, BUF and NYI will hurt with good teams like BOS, TOR , CAR, VAN and EDM coming up …

I really wanna be positive but man oh man this can get really bad and quickly :(

This Team has mastered in doing just enough to lose a game

At least Batherson was visible for a change

Should've traded Batherson and Norris in the offseason for top-4 dmen
