Anyone know how Nickelback got their name?
A couple of the guys worked at Starbucks in their youths and a small coffee would come out to .95 cents so all day long they would be saying "Here is your nickel back, here is your nickel back, here is your nickel back". Fun fact you can share with your friends.

I was about to guess that back then a nickelbag costed $4.95, and they always got a nickel back.

I was close! :sarcasm:

The Zoo has so many memories for me, First Time I saw Nickleback was there (they’re a Canadian Institution, if you disagree, fight me), my buddies in the metal scene played there a lot, Art of the Skin events, etc.

I was a preppy kid and did not fit in at all. But the metal heads were cool as shit.

North of Toronto
I see you are north of Toronto now, how do you like it?
I like it a lot. Having a job and a car and a good salary helps, of course. Bit of a culture shock after 3 years in Winnipeg and growing up in Van, but at 200K Barrie flips between both a small town and big city feel. Way more culture here than I was expecting and tons of beaches within a few minutes. And for those who like the bright lights, Toronto is only an hour away (or 45 minutes according to some).

I'm still closeted and the few people I've come out to as a Jets fan have given me a "you'll get over it shrug". The place reeks of TML and whenever you hear a mention of Austin they're not talking Texas. Several local radio stations, one local TV station (CTV) and everything is very white and Anglo. Rarely hear any French off campus or see Indigenous people. But the blue and white of the Leafs is quite literally everywhere.

Go Jets!

When the Jets were handed their first lost, my degenerate cousins in Mississauga were unbearable.

Once you get past Guelph if you go West past it... it's beautiful... and they are mostly not Leaf fans past Guelph.... so most beautiful...
