Fun game to watch, they're giving the home crowd their money's worth, for sure.
Loved almost everything about this win, except for CBJ special teams.
Without knowing they are 1st in both PP & PK, would've guessed they were among the worst.

Saw the score (not the final, saw when it went to 7-1) on the scoreboard at the Monsters game. Will definitely watch the midnight re-air.

Fun game to be at. PK was busy and not good tonight. Oh well 8 goals, I'll take it and run.

If you're going to have your PK exposed as a problem, better do it with a 6 goal lead.

It only hurts the goal differential. Despite that, Jackets now 4th in the league in goal differential! :amazed:

Never in my life did I expect to be able to chant "WE WANT 10" again... :D

Awesome game. Yeah, we didn't finish the best and the special teams were meh, but with that big of lead I kind of thought it would end up like that.

Overall: encouraged.. we needed to respond in a good way tonight and I think we did. Tough week ahead with Caps & Rangers.. needed these two points.

I think Nutivaara is one tough cookie. And I do not give out cookies easily.

While they were PP goals for St. L, on at least 2 of them, Bob did not look very good.

I notice many comments about the Blues "gooning it up". What did I say on the first page of this thread about Hitch teams playing dirty and my hoping we could get out of the game without a serious injury? Blues have been goonies since Hitch took over.

"Since"?

They used to pull this same crap when Hitch was coaching us.

Tarasenko was a beast last night. The Tank is a superstar.

But yes, the PK was atrocious last night, I really think we are missing Jones back there. I also think the PP seems a bit out of sorts, and that has been a trend the last few games. But I am very encouraged by our 5v5 play, we had 7 goals at ES. That is the one area that I think we REALLY needed to improve on, so that is a good step moving forward.

If we can win 2 out of the next 3, regardless of how well or poorly we play, I will be one happy guy :D. In a month or two, we won't look back and say "Oh, we had a poor effort, that needs to improve". We'll look back and say "We got 2 points". Let's keep this going!

Other then scoring last night he wasn't great. And other then this game he has.shown he needs time in the AHL.

Nuti, you are my son but I have done all I can do to protect you. Why do you think Nummelin favoured you so? He saw in you the potential to continue his legacy: not to follow him but to exceed him. All men are troubled when their moment in time has come. The people of Columbus loved Numppa and they will love you, Nuti.

You cannot think like an ordinary man. You must reach beyond mortal ambition and do what has never been done. To win, Columbus must have Nutivaara in the line-up.

I tend to agree.

I think Nutivaara is coming along, slowly but surely, on the 3rd pairing. AHL 1st pairing minutes would be good for him, but he's learning here and we have injuries.

And the coach is sticking with him, which is a good thing for his development. I just don't think he's been so good that a night off in favor of Harrington (or whomever) wouldn't also be a good thing.
