I noticed you guys are tied with Nashville for third in the NHL in GA. Has it been mostly defense or goaltending? I thought your guys' defense looked sort of suspect at the start of the season.

As someone who has not been concussed, the hit Kopi took didn't look that forceful to me. Hope he isn't being rushed back and glad he is ok.

it's the system the whole team plays. We may have lost some D-men but our forwards are great defensively.

A little bit more goaltending than defense. We have a strong top 4 but Quick and Enroth have made up for our bottom pairing, which is also constantly changing because of bad players/injury. And some good play by forwards

Somehow its looked okay. Jamie McBain kind of came outta no where and started playing well. Erhoff has been alright, as well as McNabb, but both are not without their glaring mistakes. I think Muzzin and Doughty are the obvious anchors on the back end for us. Martinez seems to be adjusting to his new role as a top 4 with Muzzin.

I can't forget the great play of both Quick and Enroth though, 2 huge reasons for a decent GA.

A little of both. Quick obviously picked it up bigtime and Enroth has been stellar in relief. Muzzin and Martinez have made a great 2nd pairing since McNabb moved up with Doughty. McBain and Ehrhoff have made a decent third pairing though Ehrhoff is the most prone d-man to bad decisions at the moment, but the difference from years past is that every one of those six can move the puck, it's night and day in transition and we look pretty quick. The system requires our forwards be great two-way as well so that's helped even while the personnel has been less than ideal, especially with Shore and Andreoff in over Stoll/Richards because even if they've got a lot to learn they're faster and more tenacious.

Sometimes it's not the force of the hit, but where it hits. Getting hit in the jaw can cause the head to whip/twist and you can get a concussion that way.

I loved McBain last year and I love him this year too. He's one of our best D men on the PP.

What I like best about his play is that he doesn't waste time getting the puck out of his zone. That's something McNabb has really struggled with of late, and it helps that he has Doughty to back him up, and McBain has had a similar impact in bailing out Ehrhoff who is prone to many errors.

As others have stated, it's been a combination of a patient, high puck possession style and really quick transition game from D to F with people like Muzzin, Doughty, and McBain making real good first passes to exit the D zone.

I'LL BE THERE!!!!!!!

Please let us know how your drive from Westwood to Staples was.

I think it more the shock of being butt-ended in the jaw that crumpled Kopitar. Sneaky and dirty. A move so dickish that you have to kind of applaud it.
