I just can't see there being a easily acquirable goalie out there that has the chops to usurp Skinner or Pickard. I mean if that player existed, I think our scouts would've already identified him.

If we really wanted to do something like that we should've been in on Askarov.
Hey I wanted to make a play to move up for Askarov, and wanted to draft Wallstedt. You can’t trade for these guys now, it’s too expensive. Gotta get the top goalies at the draft or maybe sign them at the right time. We can’t get a top goalie right now..

Anyway I’m not a pro scout but i could probably find a dozen goalies playing on new teams, making f*** all and with better stats than our guys.

Lankinen in Vancouver pops into my mind right away, guy has some experience, signed for like 1mil and he’s looking good so far.

There’s scouts making a nice living for the Oilers, they can do this and it wouldn’t cost a ton to accomplish in a trade.

Can Pikard be the starter this season? Lol
You never know until you give a guy that workload and see how they handle it. But backups can often have great games when they’re needed, but a heavy workload is too much.

We might have to try out of necessity. Why not, if he can keep playing well give him some room to grow

He brings so much stability. Skinner gets chanted at like one time and its over.
His rebound control is so much better. How many goals have been caused by skinner spitting out easy shots this season already? Lol

Same! I've also been bemoaning our choice to bring back Smith a 3rd time instead of going all-in on Ullmark.

I mean at some point its gotta be the scouts and coaches because we've been on this goaltender carousel for the last 15+ years I want nothing but to get off it.

I'm doubtful there's an exterior solution for goaltending this year, the call is gonna have to come from inside the house methinks.

They should fire Schwartz before they find another goalie for him to ruin.

Basically if there is something that a team lacks, a player who brings it will look good. We are an older team, and Philp comes in here with some youth and vigor
They should try these lines

Podkolzin - Draisaitl - Arvidsson
Skinner - Henrique - Hyman
Nuge - Philp - Brown
Janmark - Ryan - Perry

To see how it goes with Connor out
