I am not exaggerating. I haven't seen Matheson NOT f*** up every single play in the last 5-6 games. I mean Lindstrom is better, FFS.

I still low-key prefer Petry offensively over Matheson when he was in his prime but defensively, yeah it's easy to forget that Petry wasn't solid at all

Anderson is such a jabroni now, all he has is a quick 3 step burst that leads to taking a low percentage shot from the outside. That's it, literally all he ever does on offense. Reminds me of Zednik at the very end.

At the end it was close. Petry at his worst was one of the worst players on the ice every night. Matheson is at least younger and cheaper and has some bright spots

I mean Petry in his last year with us was basically passing the puck to the other team in our own zone every other shift.
Matheson is no where close to Petry's best, but Petry's best was as a #3 behind Weber. Matheson is being played as a #1. He'd look better on the 2nd pair. He is being paid like a 2nd pairing D too. He's being played above his skill level - like Brisebois was.
