I have no answer to why they are playing so bad.

IMO they should be much better.

I really thought the defense would be good this year.

I am so distracted because of other things going on right now.

It is most of the team which leads me to believe something is going on.

They should be better.

Defensively that may of been the worst Bruins game since the final month of the Dave Lewis era.

Forget the fact that they can't generate squat 5 on 5. How did a Top 5 defensive team go all the way to the bottom 5?

Like we know that they aren't built for high scoring games. But for the defensive coverage to be as bad as it's been thus far, to be giving up high danger chance after high danger chance, there is zero excuse.

We know they have the personnel to be able to defend. It's on the coaching.

Did he me Accountable to each other? Predictable makes no sense

My take: when a team is playing within their system, players know where they're supposed to be, and where they're supposed to go. So the guy with the puck knows his options without much thought. Best case, the guy with the puck knows where he's going before he gets possession. The puck moves quickly from player to player because everyone knows what everyone else is doing.

That image posted by @mjhfb in post #270 is a perfect example of guys being unpredictable. There is no reason all those white shirts should be below the goal line. If Carlo were to take the puck from the Carolina, he'd look up and have no clear breakout pass.

That's beer league bad.

The whole mess started when they could not beat Cats in either game at the beginning of the season. They come out thinking they are big and tough but got their asses kicked again.

Right now none of them look like they even played organized hockey before. No structure at all.

It maybe early in the season but I do not see this turning around anytime soon. Missing the playoffs is a good possibility.

We could very well loose the next 3 games and the ball just may keep on rolling.

I believe they made a big mistake signing Zadorov and Elias. Zadorov is terrible and makes the team worse than before. He makes a big hit and then he is so much not involved in the play it is like we are on the PK. Elias has 1 assist in the past 8 games not exactly #1 center stats.

Peeke lead all bruins in ice time.

Trick or treat?
Charlie Coyle lead all Bruin forwards.
Yes. Charlie Coyle.

Ineptitude at its finest.

Plus the Bruins play boring hockey. If you suffer from insomnia...watch a Bruins game. You'll be out by the end of the 1st period.

1. McAvoy has completely mailed it in
2. Zadorov is so bad that simply him being on the team makes us immensely worse.

EDIT: Hampus is also horrible and that contract became an albatross way too quickly.
Zadorov at least showed a pulse and McAvoy is terribly off. Could Jay Leech be the problem?

Seattle didn't seem to fight too hard for him to stay.

The vendors for sure have to go, went to the Columbus Day game & tried to pay for an adult beverage with cash, but was told they don’t accept cash, but that I could tip in cash!
I agree, I'm getting sick of this cash-free bullcrap. You don't want my money, that's on you. Then it's free

I actually thought Hampus has had some good games. Zaddy is doing nothing for me. Mac...Not sure what is going on there

To be honest, I feel like this has been a problem going back to last year's playoffs. The team had one or two shots a period against Toronto towards the end of the series? The offense and power play has had zero flow for a while. I'm not a hockey coach, but it seems like a system problem to me. Could the players feel like Monty and the staff have no clue what they're doing and are mailing it in until there are changes?

What a mess!

Only logical explanation for an entire team to become this bad overnight is a curse. A damn good one at that.

In just 11 games, Coyle & Frederick are both -9. Hampus & Marchand are both -6. Pasta -5. Considering the B's suck on the PK and PP, it's surprising they have won any games.

Put the 4th line back together.

Take both Pasta & Marchand off the power play.

Move Coyle to RW. He's been terrible on faceoffs. Maybe less defensive responsibility will help him.

Play Lindholm and Lindholm at the same time as much as possible. Maybe they can confuse the opponents.

Monty should be sitting the leaders in the press box and not allow any puck on the ice during practice.

A hard message must be sent.

Monty, you don't clean it up you'll be shipped out soon enough .....

I am all for trying different players if things aren't working BUT there is no chemistry and the Bs need to establish some lines.

Time to let players work things out and not switching so much.

Can we trade Zadorov for DeBrusk?
I would rather Heinen

The only thing I can think of is they're sick of Monty and are trying to get him fired. Not sure I really believe it but it's the only thing that makes sense

Glad I haven't been watching. The way the 2023 season ended really sucked the joy out of watching hockey for me. Feels like the franchise needs a complete overhaul.
