I really don’t believe that . I think they aren’t taking the regular season seriously. Didn’t McAvoy say , we usually play well in October and where has that gotten us “ . That’s a dangerous way to think . Hell, they weren’t ready for the preseason and were terrible then .

They made it to the 2nd round last season and added a top 6C and top 4D. They are way better than what they are showing. They are just fine with looking like a bottom feeder team.

When Montgomery first took over, I could not believe how much chemistry the team had. The zone breakouts, in particular, were out of this world. The cohesion was stunning. The latter half of the record breaking season was a little bit less impressive than the first half, but I didn’t think much of it.

In retrospect, it really has been all downhill since the beginning when it all started out so great. Yes, players are older. There’s been some turnover. But it’s become less and less of a “team”. It has become frequent at this point that virtually THE ENTIRE TEAM looks confused as to what they’re supposed to be doing on the ice. NO ONE is on the same page.

It baffles me. And this year it’s really coming through on the scoreboard.

Given that colonoscopies are appropriate topics of discussion given this year’s Bruins, it’s not the destination but the journey that’s the rub, so to speak. It’s the prep that’s the thing.

I didn't like the way they looked in pre season. I don't know if they didn't start
cutting fast enough or what the deal was, but they didn't play right even then.
