Think I might try a different approach.

Send Cam in (because Harry can't make it anymore) and tell the team, look, the coach has a contract. He's not going anywhere. All of you have contracts too, and we are not trading any of you. Some of you may be moved to Providence, though. Get your shit together or go down with the ship. Its up to you.
Cam could also come down to the room and tell all the players that everything will be fine, wave his wand and inform them that no one will be traded and the coach remains in place. You can't stop a heart from loving. .....

If Cam does that... he takes the heat on himself and will need to betray his word which he will not be able to keep, IF the team sink like the Titanic. Pressure will ask the head of someone if the case!!!!

If it ain't working between the players and the coach, if it is the case...... the coach goes.

I'mwitch-chu...
I've seen enough of Monty's travelling horror show.
Monty's "system" whatever that is has obviously gotten
lost on these professional players and they look almost
completely uninspired.
Change is the operative word.
Only thing I don't agree with is putting Sacco in charge.
I may be wrong but I'm not confident in JS being the
motivating type.
Further, if I'm Sacco, I don't want the job because it
may mean "me" getting fired next and not being able to
keep my family in Boston.
He's got a nice gig here, why screw it up!?!
Leach- I'm not sure what his "up-side" is since I haven't
looked at his track record.
Sacco is the associate coach he’s getting it

I remember him as HS player he was a legend, star at BU, played long time in NHL

He’s been an NHL coach and one of the nicest people you would meet

Besides being
Local
Player
Coach
Familiarity with team

He’s a great person - never heard one bad word about this guy

People respect him and trust him

There is no better intersection to be at

Bringing in an outsider by Sweeney would be dumb as shit

Donny, this is your guy

These guys will play their nuts off for him

I like him a lot personally but I invested 38 years of time, money, emotion into this team and they had a 135 points, a 3-1 lead and he losses his mind

Sorry I can’t forgive him

That team had just pounded Florida by 10-4 in Florida games 3 and 4

I had visions of witnessing an all time team and maybe see my first Cup at home

In my world/universe/mind he screwed it up - others can disagree but guess what? I live in my world not there’s

It’s personal with me - I can like him and hope he succeeds here but I will never get that back

I’m very pissed about it

I really don’t want him as coach but I understand others do

I’d be happy very happy if they won with him but I’ll always think of what if

And Jess went to game 5 with me and we were at Porters when we saw his changes and lineup and thought it was a joke or he fell of the wagon - he will verify

I’m not as forgiving as I should be - I’m working on it but he’s way down on my list
1000% Correct! I was done with him right then and there. It was like watching my house burn down in slow motion while being handcuffed to a tree.
The look in Monty's eyes at that time was sheer panic and confusion.
He already had a great team that was supplemented with some experienced players at the TDL.
Monty neutered said players, then had no idea of how to integrate them into the lineup.
Furthermore, (in 'the '24 playoffs) allowing Pasta to go out back onto the ice tonight Tkachuc was asinine IMO.
He neutered any player who showed toughness but then allowed Pasta to
get concussed by a known POS dirtbag is a firable offense immediately after the game.
The guy has no clue.
He's a lifelong Habs fan. Too bad he couldn't emulate Scotty Bowman.

And if they don't "These guys will play their nuts off for him?"
What's the next move?
I mean I like it but if it doesn't work?
Is he a guy who would preach a defensive system
because these players are lost and for the next coach
it's going to be like hurting frogs.
They are playing lost.
The other thing is that Sacco has been there
behind the bench for a while now, are they simply
sucking to get rid of Monty (even though he deserves it)?

The coaches job is to put them in the best position to do that, he isn't. This idea of quality shooting over quantity is ridiculous, this team constantly passes up decent scoring chances to try and make the beautiful highlight reel pass, heck even Pastrnak is guilty of this. Secondly this PP is so poorly coached yet they make no adjustments, same players, same game plan to force feed passes to Pasta for the one-timer. They need to simplify things, get shots on goal with traffic and crash the net with all of these " big " players.
You don't shoot, you cannot score. Way too much perimeter play, shoot the puck, look for rebounds, I just don't understand it, teams are over playing Pasta for the one timer they know it is coming.

And it's completely on the organization.

In the autopsy of the 2023-2024 season, pretty much all three levels of the team (coach, GM, president) agreed the reason why they got smashed by Florida. Florida beat them with a nasty forecheck that relied on a pretty unique combination of speed, skill and strength in today's NHL.

So the answer to this is obviously;

1) let the couple guys you have that have the speed/skill to match in Heinen and DeBrusk walk.

2) Pile up a bunch bigger forwards but forget the "speed" part

3) have this team try to run a dump and chase (no seriously what the f***, Monty?) system

It's not even me wanting to keep DeBrusk. He was too streaky and by the sounds of it didn't want to stay long term anyways. It's the fact you let a guy who is a bonafide top 6 forward walk away and decide to spend the money that should have been allocated for that spot on a big, dumb and slow Nikita Zadorov

Like look at this list of guys they could have had for around the same money they gave to Zadorov. (also not on this list is Jeff Skinner and Vladimir Tarasenko)

Look at that list you might have gotten two of them or close to it for the price of Lindholm, the third line center.
