They should get their heads out of their asses and play hockey they're capable of. If even 1 of Coyle, Geekie, Frederic or Zacha produced this year they'd probably have another win or two.

It's easy to say who they should have kept or not let go of when the majority of the middle six hasn't contributed a thing.their play are Could and March and.
60% of the roster is massively underperforming. The only players I have concerns about continuing it. are the two oldest forwards in Marchand & Coyle.
Can't imagine the rest will continue like this.

Makes you wonder what's been communicated to him from his bosses after two disappointing playoffs. You also might wonder how that sort of tightness can affect the room and how the team plays.
Last year was a disappointing playoffs? I disagree, they beat Toronto and took the SC Champs to 6 games. With the talent they had thats over achievement.

If my math is correct, 15 % coaching and 85% players = 100 % and that means 0% on management, I think not.
If the blame is on the players, is that not automatically on management since they assembled this collection of players? Can some of the issues the players have be on coaching, the way they're used, the systems they're playing? Or did all these players regress all at once out of the blue? Just bad luck then? If they were always not that good is that not on management? I don't see how you can blame the "players" without it being an extension of either management or coaching.

Maybe it should be extended to all three.

I think Monty tends to mix things up too quickly behind the bench when it comes to line combos but man, been years since I`ve seen a Bruins team pass the puck like peewee`s and his in game adjustments are suspect but ultimately, it`s the players who execute or not and this team ain`t and it`s on the basics of the game, passing, positioning, focus on details

A coach who has had two seasons winning percentage of .823 and .665 hasn`t forgotten how to coach

For me, I`d put about 15% of blame on the coaching staff, horrible PP adjustments or lack of PP adjustments and 85% on the players who have been garbagio

I expected a bit of an uneven October in the sense of new faces/systems, Marchand off 3 surgeries, Poitras having not played in forever but this ? I know it isn`t true as I am sure they do but they appear to be a group that doesn`t give a shit
In addition to what you said, the surprising thing to me is that last season we had Coyle and Zacha being asked to take on 1st and 2nd-line center roles that few thought they could handle. They overachieved. Over the offseason Sweeney brought in Lindholm as the the first line center. That move supposedly added a skilled center capable of first line minutes and slotted Coyle farther down the lineup and Zacha to wing where they would be in better positions to succeed. However, instead of improving our lineup it has been a disaster.

Zacha shooting on the net during practice and the boards go boom ..

*Monty stands behind him .. hit the F’n net! * as the vein on his head bulges almost to breaking point.
That sounds like a man that’s past his breaking point. I feel bad for him because he’s been given a roster that just isn’t competitive but it doesn’t sound to me like he’s the guy to steer a rebuild either

I was disappointed, and I think the front office was too based on their comments and the roster turnover. And so was pretty much everyone on this board., for that matter. It's easy to in hindsight to say, well that was the Cup Champion but no one knew that then. This was their second go around with that team in as many years and they seemed to have learned nothing from the first time.

Florida went to the Cup Finals the year before. I hardly know anyone who thought Boston would win the series last year.

Last season's team wasn't as good as the 2023 team.

Not sure that anyone learns how to beat a team that is simply better than they are.

How come the coach doesn’t get any cache for taking a team “retooling on the fly” to 110 pts and second round appearance but the GM is lauded for the same accomplishment? Now not even a dozen games in people are calling for the coaches head?
I like him a lot personally but I invested 38 years of time, money, emotion into this team and they had a 135 points, a 3-1 lead and he losses his mind

Sorry I can’t forgive him

That team had just pounded Florida by 10-4 in Florida games 3 and 4

I had visions of witnessing an all time team and maybe see my first Cup at home

In my world/universe/mind he screwed it up - others can disagree but guess what? I live in my world not there’s

It’s personal with me - I can like him and hope he succeeds here but I will never get that back

I’m very pissed about it

I really don’t want him as coach but I understand others do

I’d be happy very happy if they won with him but I’ll always think of what if

And Jess went to game 5 with me and we were at Porters when we saw his changes and lineup and thought it was a joke or he fell of the wagon - he will verify

I’m not as forgiving as I should be - I’m working on it but he’s way down on my list

I was disappointed because they got beaten by the same team in that exact same way and had no answers for it. It was probably as much that as the series loss that bugged the suits and has caused some problems for Monty.

See above- it wasn't the loss, though I hoped for a win, but the way it went. Losing to a better team is one thing, getting beaten down by a team that they were more than a physical match for (on paper) is another.

That might be an added part of the frustration. Non entertaining Bruins is

Coach is terrified.
Well he's pissing his pants.
This is uncharted territory for Montgomery.
His first 2 years here they had incredibly strong starts.
They patched some areas this year where they need help, yet they somehow through that have gotten worse or lost chemistry or or or or....etc

When the 5on3 happened last night I said to my wife "Watch them piss this away" and they did.
Zero mobility on the PP.
Everyone stands still in their designated area.

Our PP reminds me of a vintage rod hockey set where the players were stationary.
