Clearly they don’t have the talent to simply show up and go through the motions.

Again, what do they do well?

Do they have the roster that would make a coaching change an effective move? Would simplifying their game, hitting, getting pucks and bodies to the net, and limiting the finesse play help?

Do they have the roster to play that brand of hockey?

I'm not getting that two and a half hours back. What a waste of time.

-Monty won't even make 20 games and he knows it. He knows it because none of the assistant coaches were ever his guys. He's a lame duck coach.
-Charlie McAvoy has been brutal lately. He just isn't what they want him to be. He's not a PP1 quarterback, he's bruising dman who can chip in offensively.
-The Lindholm twins are as vanilla as you can get.
-Marchand is not 100%, no jump, not sure if he can ever get that back at 36.
-Bunch of tomato cans in the middle six, Brasseau, Geekie, what happened to Frederic?
-Some blame for Sweeney here too, incredibly slow team

Two basic assignments for Bruins management every year – make the playoffs and keep the fans happy and spending money. So, what’s Charlie Jacobs’ tolerance level for the on-ice product being this bad? And how long does he wait and hope things turn around before ordering a major change? I know the decisions technically lie with Sweeney and Neely, but I don’t think they do anything significant without the blessing and direction of ownership.

Put it this way. Two seasons ago I travelled half-way around the world to see the Bruins, on the road. Now I’m really not sure I’d mosey down from Charlestown for a home game. Especially at Garden prices. Hockey is a results business first and foremost but you sink even further if the entertainment factor disappears too. Bad is problematic. Bad and boring even worse.

It’s an ill wind blowing down the Causeway. We’ve not seen this franchise in such a tough spot for quite some time, early doors or not. How will they respond?

Clone the Florida system. Simple as that. Simple hockey. Boring hockey. Winning hockey.

Far better than this.

Hard to believe just a couple seasons ago Montgomery coached the team with the best regular season in history.

Must have been the players more than the coach
Or the right coach for the right roster.

Maybe this roster is just too broken and uneven to deliver on a consistent basis.

They have some pieces at the top of the roster, but they also have holes.

The middle of this roster feels very bloated.
