I'm dreading the emptiness of the arena tonight. I just have a bad bad feeling about that. This team needs to win in a big way. We need to start something good here. We need some excitement.

I'm hoping Gelinas provides instant excitement and the Devils start a great run.

The one Van fan that I'm friends with has been dying to see those two split up permanently. Apparently Van doesn't have a lot of guys who pass/create.

Unfortunately we have way too many players who pass and create....don't have many goalscorers..

Canucks fans are friends with fans of teams from the former Atlantic Division, actually.

“You have to be solid in all areas,†DeBoer said. “I’m not looking for a goal or an assist. Just physical play, reliable defensively, get the trust of the coaches. Not be minus-5 or 6 in five games.â€

Funny, because A) "I'm not a big stats guy" and B) Ryder has been a -6 in the last 5 games
